Last Sunday saw the Club hold a one hour challenge at Elephant Park where most of the 63 starters tried to keep circulating to see how many full laps of the 1.6km loop they could complete inside the hour.

Leading the way by a big margin was Iain McLean who completed 9 laps in 57:52, while Nicole Williamson was the fastest of the girls running 8 laps in 59:49.

Rounding out the top 3 for the guys was Daryl Roweth with 8 laps in 58:18 and Rikky Bangert with 7 laps in 52:15. For the girls second place went to Amber Rich who completed 7 laps in 53:12 and Estelle Dean who did her 7 laps in 54:07. A big congratulations to all who took on the challenge.

Some of our female members and their friends ventured down to Victoria to compete in the Melbourne ‘City to Sea’.  All runners had strong runs over the 15km course with Leanne Corcoran setting the fastest time (66:39) as she finished ninth in her age category, while Karen Neal (74:37) came in eleventh in her category.

Other runners who competed and their times were Robyn Cotten 79:56, Jane Fairgrieve 97:01, Yolanda Zhao 99:12, Pam Fullgrabe 100:01 and Maree Moss 107:29.

On Wednesday night at Elephant Park 61 starters tried to beat rain and Renai decided a mass start will help us get there. Setting the pace were Jack Daintith and Rikky Bangert who recorded an identical time of 11:27 for the three laps, while Lily Craig was the fastest of the girls with a time of 12:27. Claire Stutchbury ran 15:41 which was another Personal Best for her with a 55s improvement.

John Moss ran 14:34 to be the overall winner but there may be an investigation into whether John may have damaged a tree after crossing the finish line.

Next Wednesday is the third and final event for the Junior Spring Carnival, so make sure you don’t miss the chance to run against and challenge your own age group.

This weekend the Sunday run is at the picturesque Lake Canobolas.

Also a reminder, to get onto the website and register for the Christmas Party on the 3rd of December.
