Last Sunday, Orange Runners Club held its weekend run at Lake Canobolas, where 69 members had the choice of 1-4 laps of a slow, scenic 2.5km course around the lake. The first three finishers by gender for each distance are as follows:
1 lap – Male: Rikky Bangert (10:06), Noah Lamrock (10:44), and Elliot Bangert (11:14). Female: Lily Bangert (13:31), Tanya Connolly (13:58), and Kerry Lindsay (14:16)
2 laps – Male: Thomas Dale (19:47), Jackson Boucher (22:22) and Alistair Merrifield (25:43). Female: Lily Craig (26:48), Belinda McCauley (28:31) and Glenys Rosser (40:02).
3 laps – Male: Bill Fairgrieve (45:14), and Steven Wensley (45:56). Female: Renai McArdle (48:32), Sue Betts (56:47) and Sharon Fahy (56:48).
4 laps – Male: Mitch Essex (44:43), Dave Ross (46:16), and Daryl Roweth (47:28). Female: Ursula Wilson (49:18), Meg Reeves (55:08) and Dani Syme (59:13)
Congratulations to all who participated, Dani Syme was declared the winner. Fastest lap of the morning belonged to Thomas Dale who clocked a 9:40 for his 2nd lap.
The Wednesday afternoon Elephant Park 3 lap handicap event saw 48 competitors take part in pleasant conditions. The fastest men were Noah Lamrock (11:21), Jack Daintith (11:32) and Alistair Merrifield (11:51). The fastest ladies were Usula Wilson (12:17), Lily Craig (12:25) and Estelle Dean (12:36). Fastest lap of the Elephant Park circuit was clocked by Jack Daintith at at 3:31 for his first lap. PB’s were achieved by Freya Keegan (43s), Beau Keegan (33s), Fred Bangert (5s) and Emily Pearson (1s). Ursula Wilson was declared the overall winner. Well done to all who took part.
This Sunday sees the club back at the Botanic Gardens, where members will have the opportunity to complete one to 5 laps of the regular picturesque, 1.6km circuit. This will commence at 9am. There is also the option of a challenging 13.3km trail run in the area of the 4th Crossing, towards Ophir, meeting at 6:45 am. Please note that for winter the Wednesday Handicap Time Trial run at Elephant Park will commence at 4:45pm with a mass start.
This weekend sees the 47th annual running of the Sydney City to Surf. It is envisaged that many club members will be participating, and we look forward to hearing positive results.
