At a very sorry looking Spring Creek Dam on Sunday, 74 runners club members recognised the achievements of Oscar Meek for completing 25 club runs and Simon Lun for finally reaching 100 runs. When the running started some fast times were set on the winding course with a slight headwind making life difficult before the turnaround.

On Wednesday at Elephant Park 63 starters were out to get a run in before the rain comes, ‘hopefully’.
Fastest runner on the day was Brad ‘Parkrun’ Simmons in 11:43, closely followed by the overall handicap winner in Leanne Corcoran who recorded a speedy 11:58.
Rounding out the top three male runners behind Brad were Jai Anlezark 12:09 and Blake Gleeson 12:18, while for the ladies Milla Jurd 12:37 and Alison Spurway 14:24 filled second and third spot respectively.
Milla’s time was a 5 second personal best, with other PB’s recorded by Kim Roweth 14s, Emily Palmer 1m6s, Yonneka Hill 3m56s, Brendan Cantwell 21s, and Sophie Kenway 47s.
This Sunday the club run will be held at Jack Brabham starting at 9am with 1 – 6 laps of the 1.75km course.
With the current weather conditions currently being experienced, both temperature and air quality, runners are reminded to run / walk or don’t run, to the conditions and to keep hydrated.
A reminder to think about entering the Orange Running Festival in 2020 (Held on March 7 & 8 at Gosling Creek). There is an event for everyone, from the kids 2km on the Saturday afternoon to the Hotel Canobolas 5km, The Barnyard 10km, Athletes Foot Half Marathon and Carpenter, Collins and Craig Marathon on the Sunday morning. Also the committee will be looking for volunteer helpers prior to and during the event, so please put your hand up to help, or contact Noel Annett Mike O’Mara for more information.
