Another big Sunday morning for runners club members with a Trail run at Macquarie Woods before the normal club run at Elephant Park. A number of runners doubled up on both runs with many great results recorded.
At the trail run Ian and Alison Spurway set out a 7km short course and a testing 13km track for the 21 starters including two new members Stephanie Hill and Murray Smith.
The first three runners home over each distance were:

With 82 starters including another new member in Lola Vaira, runners took on the 1.6km laps of Elephant Park, with the fastest runners over the various distances being:

Handicap winner was Rosemary Elkington who completed the 4.8km distance in 29:12.
On Wednesday at Elephant Park 96 starters enjoyed cooler conditions for the Elephant Park fast laps and it was the familiar faces of Peter Finlay 10:36, Brad Simmons 10:56 and Joel Broadfoot 11:07 at the top of the speedy section of the runners.
Leanne Corcoran 11:45 was the fastest of the ladies with Alicia Anlezark 13:07 and Lily Craig 13:13 in a tight tussle for the minor placings. Overall winner was Emily Meiring 16:22 was the overall winner after running a 55s Personal Best.
Other PB’s were recorded by Kim Anlezark 2s, Paul Anderson 24s, Trevor Jones 4s, Becky Went 7s, Audrey Schonknecht 14s, Frank Montil 3s and Malachi Gately 27s.
This Sunday the club run will be held at Favell Road, starting at 9am, with 3km, 5.5km, 8.1km and 11.3km distances available.
Time is running out to enter the Orange Running Festival on March 7 & 8 so make sure you get your entry in if you want to run but also volunteers for the weekend will be gratefully accepted, so either way get involved to make it a great weekend.
