Last Saturday night over 50 members and friends of The Orange Runners Club gathered at The Hotel Canobolas for two special events.
First was the farewell of Peter and Robyn Cotton. Ex President and life member Gary Williams, gave a moving speech of how Peter and Robyn became part of The Orange Runners Club. Their contribution over the years will be greatly missed
Secondly, bon voyage to Jane and Bill Fairgrieve who are off to Scotland for an extended visit. Bill and Jane’s daughters gave a speech about their history with Orange Runners Club and how their current health level and quality of life has been enhanced because of this association.
On Sunday although it was only seven degrees, 56 members turned up at The Botanic Gardens for our runs.
Each year daylight savings catch out some and it was reported that Amber Rich was seen arriving as everyone was finishing.

Two Certificates were awarded; Tanya Connolly was awarded a Certificate for Achieving 200 runs with The Orange Runners Club and Kay Davis for Achieving 600 Runs. What a great effort by both ladies.
Other news is that on the 25th September (The day after his 70th birthday) Brian Rix ran in Melbourne’s Sri Chinmoy Yarra Boulevard Half Marathon.
He came home 272 out of358 ina time of 1:59.30 winning his age division.
On Wednesday 69 turned up for our Elephant Park mid-week run. Prior to starting many members were discussing the number of P.B.’s that were achieved at Sunday’s Botanical Gardens runs. Sally Kitto was over the moon in achieving an 11sec PB in the 4.8km event. Martin Ryan claimed it was his ruthless goading that brought about her achievement. Wednesday’s Handicap winner was Glen Maxwell.
PB times reported were; Richard Eggleston 2 seconds, Simon Lun 17 seconds
and Beck Halls a Whopping 40 seconds.
Tomorrow we will be at Bargwanna Road for a 3, 5 and 10K run.
