Club Championship

At our last committee meeting it was suggested we have club championship awards at our annual awards night (Christmas party), this would be in addition to the trophies we already have. Most sporting clubs have a championship award to recognize their talented athletes. This is only a trial until the AGM to see if the majority of members would approve  championship trophies. There are 3 female and male categories junior, open and senior open.

The scoring is as follows: 1st 15 points 2nd 13 points 3rd 11 points 4th 9 points and 5th 7 points, there is also points based on distance ran, e.g. if there are 3 distances for an event and the runner wins his/her category in the shortest distance they would be awarded 16 points in total whereas if the runner wins his/her category in the longest distance they would be awarded 18 points (see the point scores at the end of today’s results). The championship points will be scored for Sunday and Wednesday events and the updated total points will be displayed in the PointsTally column.
