On Sunday after the big wet club members were pleasantly surprised to be able to cross the creek crossing on Bargwanna Road for their morning run. The temperature was a little cool to start off with but once you got moving everyone enjoyed the chance to get out and run / walk. In the 3km run Lachlan Ross (13:17) was the quickest, with Logan Whiteley (15:24) second of the boys and Cameron Ross (17:02) dusting himself off after a fall to finish off strong for third. Sophie Martin (15:38) was the fastest girl ahead of Pip Martin (17:16) and Denise Quinlan (30:51).
In the 5km Adam Sharam (20:57) picked up from his strong run at Dubbo, with the fastest run as he beat home Noah Lamrock (22:44), who gets the ‘yay for the day’, when he stopped to make sure Cameron Ross was ok, before continuing his run. Jack Daintith (23:10) came home in third spot. In a strong womens 5km Amber Rich (22:50) continued on her winning way, to lead home the fast finishing Janet Martin (23:24) and a consistent Ella Lamrock (24:59) was third.
Deciding to do 8km’s, Grace Srzich and Brooke Martin (43:08) set a consistent and solid pace, while Michelle Srzich (46:17) followed in their footsteps to do the 5k and 3k loops.
Setting the pace in the tough 10km distance, Iain McLean (41:49), got the better of Stephen Martin (44:22) while Adam Reeves (45:07) powered into third spot. Ursula Wilson (48:19) was the standout of the ladies, while Kim Jarvis (62:42) did what Kim does best and just kept running.
Not to be overshadowed by the rest of the family, Angus Martin (18:39) was declared the overall winner after completing the 3km run.
On Wednesday at Elephant Park, an unusually warm afternoon compared to the last couple of Wednesdays’, which saw a strong turnout of 84 starters and a huge number of Personal Best times. Ricky Bangert (11:09) set the fastest time while Ursula Wilson (11:53) was the fastest of the girls. Personal bests were set by: William Pell 20s, Tim Robinson 5m14s, Thomas Hogben 10s, Lachlan Ross 2s, Noah Whiteley 2m11s,Hugh Daintith 5s, Sophie Martin 1m16s, Jon Francis 8s, Melanie Moon 8s, Ned Cummins 1m23s, Danielle Klingberg 14s, Gill Hay 14s, Rebecca Jaques 28s, Wayne Jaques 42s and Sophie Hogben 50s. Young Sophie Hogben also picked up the overall handicap win with a time of 16:53 for the three laps.

Sunday’s run is a new venue – Favell Road – with the start / finish at the Byng Church starting at 9am. So lets get out there and check out this new run with four distances from 3km to 11.5km.
