Last Sunday, Orange Runners Club had its regular Sunday run at Clergate School, where 74 runners had the choice of 3K, 5K or a challenging 10K course. The first 3 finishers by gender for each distance are as follows:

3K – Female: Amber Rich (12:44), Eva Keegan (16:28) and Lucy Jurd (21:15). Male: Noah Lamrock (12:55), Oliver Chandler-Sullivan (13:52) and Russell Tym (15:32).

5K – Female: Ella Lamrock (23:50), Lily Craig (25:05) and Karen Neal (25:12) Male: Jared Sullivan (19:31), Jackson Boucher (23:41) and Gareth Thomas (24:13)

10K –  Female: Leanne Corcoran (45:43), Ursula Wilson (49:08) and Katrina Smith (54:27). Male: Anthony Daintith (45:02), Joel Kitto (46:50) and Daryl Roweth (48:13).

A big thumbs up to all who participated, Henry Reeves was declared the winner.

On Wednesday, 70 competitors took part in the regular 3 lap handicap event, under warm conditions. The fastest ladies were Leanna Corcoran (11:51), Ella Lamrock (12:08) and Alicia Ross (12:15). The fastest men were Mitch Williamson (9:37), Rikky Bangert (10:24) and Anthony Daintith (11:24). PBs were achieved by Alicia Ross (10s), Anna Daintith (17s), Kelly Jurd (1s), Kate Harris (44s) and Rebecca Kennedy (18s). Well done to all who took part, Kate Harris was declared the winner.

This Sunday sees the club back at CSU at 9am, where members can try one to six laps of the regular 1.6K course. In addition, there is the monthly trail run at Kinross Forest, 11.8K, meet at 6:45am for a 7 am start (see website for meet-up location, and required safety equipment). This coming Wednesday sees the regular 3-lap handicap event at 5pm.

Also this weekend is the annual Australian Running Festival, held in Canberra. This event is usually well-supported by club members, with our club often represented in all events – 5K, 10K Half and Full Marathon. The author is undertaking his 5th Marathon. A full wrap-up of this wonderful event will be in next week’s column.

Club members should be aware of the AGM to be held after the Sunday Run on 22 April at Elephant Park (Approximately starting just after 10am). All positions are open, for members to put their own mark on running our fantastic club.
