Last Sundays run was out at Berrilee Road with 3 distances to choose from (4,8.1,and Coops 12.3km). In the 4km, it was young rising star Hadden Bennett who was first home is a great time of 17:14. Alistair “Kiwi” Merrifield (19.23) just pipped Lachie Ross and Jack Daintith who tied for third. Amber Rich was the first lady home in 17:41. Good to see Kerrie Lindsay back on the track in second place ahead of Simone Fogarty. Welcome to the club Audrey Brown who was next home in 28:56.
Karen Neal (43:42) was first home in the ladies 8.1km just ahead of Kelly Gleeson (43.59) with Kate Thornton 3rd in a time of 48.29. Michael Kennard (39.49), held of the spirited challenge of Hugh Daintith and John “JC” Connolly pushed out the distance this week into 3rd position.
In the 12.3km event, it was Iain McLean (55.55) who prevailed and tamed the undulating track. Anthony Daintith was close behind in second (59.01) ahead of Nick Carney (1.01.35) in 3rd place. Alicia Ross was a clear winner in the ladies (1.06.09), ahead of Alison Spurway (coming off the back of two consecutive half marathons over the last weekends) and Alicia Anlezark.
Congratulations to Brian Sharp who was the handicap winner (12.km in 1.28.13).
Fantastic turnout of 93 runners at Elephant Park on Wednesday afternoon. Congratulations to Oliver McLean 50 runs and Peter Hyde and Sam Leatham who were presented their 25 run achievement medals. Awesome work by the 8 members who achieved PBs this week.
