The unfortunate bushfires on and around Mt Canobolas meant Sunday’s run was moved from Berrilee Road to the flatter Elephant Park course. The smoke and heat did keep some away however 62 Members took on the 1.6, 3,2 4.8, 6.4, 8 and 9.6 km options.

The handicap winner was Teegan Langthorne.

77 members turned out on Wednesday despite the heat with Tim Murphy again first across the line. To add to the  de ja vu Leanne Corcoran was the first female home and looked like she was doing it easy. Must be all those 545 starts she was overheard locking in for the week. That’s 545 AM. Best of luck for the big one at next week’s Running Festival Leanne. It was great to see so many families, children and prams on the track on Wednesday. Looking forward to seeing these groups in the 2km and 5km events at the Running Festival. Speaking of, if you haven’t already,  make sure your youngsters have registered with their school teams for the schools challenge on the Sunday, which is always a hotly contested event!

This Sunday’s run is at Kinross Forest to make up for the hills we missed out on last weekend. Take care on this one as it is a rough surface and follow the very helpful spray paint turnaround signs as people have been known to take a wrong turn on this one. Make sure you write down what distance you are doing and hydrate in this continual heat.
