Last Sunday, Orange Runners Club had two weekend runs – 1.6-8k at Elephant Park, and the inaugural monthly trail run, 11km in Kinross Forest.

At Elephant Park, 78 members in attendance had a choice of 1 to 5 laps of a tranquil 1.6km course taking in Moulder Park in pleasant conditions. The first two finishers by gender for each distance are as follows:

1.6k – Men: Thomas Hogben (7:28) and Owen Hogben (7:34). Women: Pip Martin (8:21) and Belinda MacCauley (8:56).

3.2k – Men: Jack Daintith (13:30), and Hugh Daintith (14:11). Women: Liz Simpson (12:40) and Sophie Martin (13:27).

4.8k – Men: Stephen Martin (19:23) and Brett Rosser (21:57). Women: Lily Craig (21:51) and Ella Lamrock (21:53).

6.4k – Men: Noah Lamrock (28:55) and Felix Koeppen (29:04). Women: Kelly Gleeson (32:50)

8k – Men: Daryl Roweth (36:18) and Joel Kitto (37:43). Women: Ursula Wilson (36:19) and Rhianna Fitzpatrick (38:04).

Congratulations to all who participated, Kerry Lindsay was declared the winner. The fastest lap of the morning was Stephen Martin who clocked a 6:10 on his opening lap.

Orange Runners Club as set up a schedule of monthly trail runs, organised by the ORC Trail Hustler group. 10 brave souls fronted up for the 11km trail run in Kinross Forest at 7am last Sunday. Felix Koeppen (55:09) and Dave Ross (55:14) were the first two men home, whilst Alison Spurway (82:50) and Yolanda Zhao (84:04) were the only two female participants. The next trail run will be on 9 July at Mitchells Way (off Cargo Road).  We look forward to seeing some more faces at these events. Please visit our webpage or speak to a committee member for further information about these runs, including the required equipment.

The Wednesday afternoon Elephant Park 3 lap handicap event saw 47 competitors take part in pleasant conditions. The fastest men were Rikky Bangert (11:46), Elliot Bangert (11:46) and Alistair Merrifield (11:54). The fastest ladies were Ursula Wilson (12:37), Ella Lamrock (12:40) and Liz Simpson (12:42). Fastest lap of the Elephant Park circuit was clocked by Hugh Daintith at 3:47. A PB was achieved by Jamie Corcoran (25s). Glenys Rosser was declared the overall winner. Well done to all who took part.
This Sunday sees the club back at Stagecoach Road, where members will have a choice of 2km, 3km, 5km or 8.5km of a hilly course. This event will commence at 9am. Please be advised that for winter the Wednesday Handicap Time Trial run at Elephant Park will commence at 4:45pm with a mass start.
