EDITORIAL REPORT FOR CWD Saturday 19th March 2022

Last Sunday, 51 members made the most of their Sunday morning and paced their way around the Endeavour oval loop. The big loop was roughly 2.83km and you could complete it 1 to 4 times. Most members stayed around after finishing to enjoy a well-deserved barbeque in celebration of a great running festival. Thanks to those that helped cook it.

The world gave us another humid afternoon for 58 members to give it their all at Wednesday’s Elephant Park run. In the normal 3 lap course; Top three males were Jack Daintith 9:51, Peter Finlay 10:02 and Mark Thomas 10:49. Completing the top three ladies were Kinisha Roweth 13:52, Samantha Pluymers 14:38 and Kim Jarvis 15:18. Personal bests were recorded this week by Will Robinson 38secs, Rhonda Jones 20 secs, Benjamin Hill 1sec, Madeline Hill 17secs, Mark Thomas 28secs, Maxwell Horne 1sec and Paige Alexander 12 secs.

This week we added in some shorter distances for juniors to participate in. This included a short 600m loop and then the normal loop either 1 or 2 laps. The results were and congratulations to

  • Junior 600 metres; Olivia Blore 3:51, Holly Curran 4:25.
  • 2 laps Junior; Angus Finlay 9:25.
  • 1 lap Junior; Isobel Curran 3:36, Emily Blore 3:57, Claire Anlezark 4:08.

Congratulations to our achievement medal receivers this week: Claire Anlezark 100 runs, Mark Thomas 100 runs and Luke Hockey 25 runs

This Sunday’s run location is at Pinnacle, with the start between 8:30am and 9am. Distances marked out will be 3km, 5km, 7km and 10km. Please check the website for more course information. Wednesday runs will commence at 4pm and you can run any time after that as long as you are finished by 5:30pm.

Memberships are due for renewal on the 1st of April, these are 6-month registrations. To renew your membership please go to the link of the website. Runners club will continue to give you one month’s grace, as we usually do, which means you can still run during April and receive results, but you will not be covered by Athletics NSW insurance until you have paid your membership.
