EDITORIAL REPORT FOR CWD Saturday 20th August 2022

Last Sunday 28 members attended the orange mud baths at Jack Bradham. The conditions lived up to expectations. It was wet and slippery, and everyone was covered in a bit of mud and slop at some point. This was lap course of 1.75km where members could choose 1-6 laps of the course.

For our usual Wednesday run 53 members attended Elephant Park completing 1, 2 or 3 laps. Top three men were Peter Finlay 10:01, Jack Daintith 10:57, Luke Hockey 11:12. The top three women were Charlotte Meiring 12:01, Nicola Blore 12:28, Jessica Curran 13:44

Personal bests were recorded by Michael Abbey by 24 seconds and Jessica Curran by 5 seconds.

Achievement Medals were awarded to Colette Robinson with 25 runs and Tim Robinson with 50 runs.

A special mention and huge congratulations to Jack Daintith who competed in the Australian Half-Marathon Championships at the Sunshine Coast Marathon Festival.  Jack ran a blistering 1:18:46 half marathon, placing 62nd of a field of over 2400 competitors and positioning 3rd in his category, an awesome effort.

This Sunday’s run is at Clergate public school, attending club members will be treated to the Clergate public school committee generously providing some good hearty brekkie for all runners after their run. Bacon and Egg rolls, baked goods and tea and coffee will be for sale, both cash and card accepted. The best way to start a Sunday, so please come out and enjoy the atmosphere and brekkie.
