A much cooler Sunday saw 15 keen trail runners hit Mitchells Way with the Symes and Corcoran teams dominating the 13km trails. Noel Annett was the fastest completing the trail in 1 hour.

Later at Lake Canobolas it seemed more a case of ‘pets on parade’ than Runners Club with many members taking advantage of the cooler conditions and scenic location to take pooch for a loop. Peter Mueller’s Gertie took on Baxter Essex in a battle of the big dogs while the newest member of the Roweth family enjoyed making new friends. Next time for you Buster Connolly.

The 10km was a popular run with the lads, the upcoming Orange Running Festival must be the motivator. In what seemed de ja vu Brad Simmons took line honours from Tim Murphy and Daryl Roweth. In the ladies Danielle Kingberg crossed the line ahead of Jane Fairgrieve and Kim Jarvis who finished with enough time to allow Glenys Rosser enjoy a coffee.

The 7.5km saw Anthony Daintith crossing the line ahead of Matt Dean and Alistair Merrifield while Sally Kitto was only a few seconds ahead of the ever improving Anna Daintith.

Amber Rich blitzed the 2.5km in 11.11 with Iain McLean (21.32) and Estelle Dean (23.54) taking out the 5km.

Team Gibson took home some silverware with supermum Erin juggling children, the pram, the bike and David’s wardrobe to take out the handicap win. Extra large mocha deserved there Erin.

Good to see the Dean clan back with the club making a new years appearance having fun with a poochy pal and also enjoying the windy conditions for a post run swim.

On Wednesday evening the heat didn’t stop Cameron McLean confirming he smashed his previous 2km record while Graham ‘supercoach’ Fahey encouraged everyone on.

See you at the ever popular flat Bulgas Road course on Sunday. Don’t forget hat, water and sunscreen and to record your estimated distance especially if you are doing the longer run. And watch out for the guard dogs!
