Last Sunday, the regular Orange Runners Club run was held at Endeavour Oval, where 72 runners had the choice of one, two or three laps of the flat 2.6km course. The first 3 finishers by gender for each distance are as follows:

1 lap (2.6k) – Female: Sharon Fahy (18:31), Teegan Langthorne (21:24) and Sally Kitto (21:58). Male: Jack Daintith (10:46), Lachlan Ross (10:47) and Logan Whiteley (11:31)

2 laps (5.2k) – Female: Amber Rich (22:44), Ella Lamrock (23:01) and Grace Hosie (26:57). Male: Brad Simmons (20:35), Noah Lamrock (21:04) and Jackson Boucher (23:01)

3 laps (7.8k) –  Female: Ursula Wilson (35:58), Adele Wood (47:52) and Kim Jarvis (48:00). Male: Anthony Daintith (31:28), Mitch Essex (33:19) and Nic Carney (34:28)

A big thumbs up to all who participated, Freddie Littlejohn was declared the winner. Anthony Daintith clocked that fastest lap of the morning, with a 10:03 on his first.

Last Sunday also saw the clubs AGM, with various roles being filled. Congratulations to Anthony Daintith (President), Greg Shapter (Vice President), Judy Tarleton (Treasurer), John Betts (Secretary), and Michael Sharp, Richard Eggleston, and Jane Fairgrieve (Ordinary Committee Members)

Other roles filled included Publicity Officers (Richard Eggleston and Sally Kitto), Timing co-ordinators (Michael Sharp and John Hannan), Course Markers (Mike Cooper, Bill Fairgrieve and Graham Fahy), Safety Co-Ordinator (John Moss), Achievement medals (Glenys Rosser) and Uniform Officer (Anna Daintith). The 2019 Orange Running Festival will be delivered by Richard Eggleston (Head Co-Ordinator), Mitch Essex and Ian Spurway (Assistant co-ordinators), John Betts (Secretary), and general committee members Stewart and Letitia Vidler, Sally Kitto, Leanne Corcoran. Other committee roles will be filled in the coming weeks.

Some further results from the Canberra Running Festival have come to light. The 10K event was also completed by Tony Fitzpatrick (63:08), Juliet Fitzpatrick (63:10) and Stephen Blackwood (54:33). Well done to all, and apologies for missing these results last week.

On Wednesday, 57 competitors took part in the regular 3 lap handicap event, under cooler conditions. The fastest ladies were Nicole Williamson (11:19), Ursula Wilson (12:35) and Penny Chandler (14:19) The fastest men were Mitch Williamson (8:57), Connor Whiteley (9:37) and Tim Murphy (10:28). PBs were achieved by Anthony Daintith (8s), Joel Broadfoot (13s), Logan Whiteley (2s), Anna Daintith (9s), Oliver Chandler-Sullivan (17s), Tyrone Rudman (40s), Kate Harris (28s), Ryan Clark (40s) and Rebecca Kennedy (1s). Well done to all who took part, Melissa Fogarty was declared the winner.

This Sunday sees the club back at Favell Rd at 9am, where members can try 3k, 5.5k 8.1k or 11.3k distances on this very challenging course. This coming Wednesday sees the regular 3-lap handicap event at 5pm.
