On Sunday runners were split between the Bathurst Edgell Jog and the regular club run at Clergate. At Bathurst Brian Rix (50:05) finished first in the 70+ age category, while Judy Tarleton (59:15) and Glenys Rosser (1:00:33) also both in the 70+ age group, came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Also competing and their finishing times were:
Nicole Williamson (33:07), Carissa Hickey (33:54), Ryan Clark (34:38), Stephen Blackwood (38:44), Alicia Anlezark (39:25), Simon Lun (40:44), Lily Broughton (48:21), Rhonda Jones (53:59), Sophie Broughton (54:14), Alison Broughton (54:14), and Justine Neville (1:05:33).
At Clergate 62 runners took on the various distances after Peter Regan was recognised for completing 25 club runs.
The first three finishers over each distance were:
3km female – Denise Quinlan 29:54, Claire Anlezark 33:35 and Laura Primrose 35:38.
Male – Ricky Bangert 11:02, Jack Daintith 12:23 and Fred Bangert 12:31.
5km female – Amber Rich 21:20, Bridget Cole 27:38 and Tanya Connolly 27:40.
Male – Hugh Daintith 22:32, John Connolly 25:20 and Wayne Stewart 26:23.
7.5km female – Belinda McCauley 44:37, Annabelle Hosie 45:04 and Marie Regan 47:15.
Male – Ian Spurway 35:18, David Craig 37:54 and Andrew McCauley 38:04.
10km female – Luisa Sims 54:54, Alison Spurway 57:42 and Karen Mudge 59:26.
Male – Jake Munckton 49:21, James West 49:22 and Anthony Daintith 49:41.
Overall handicap winner was Bridget Cole who had a great run in the 5km.
On Wednesday night 95 starters, boosted by the Junior Spring Challenge where the juniors raced over 1, 2 or 3 laps depending on age, enjoyed the run against the clock at the Elephant Park club run.
Fastest runners on the night were 3 of the Juniors with Ricky Bangert 10:25, Hadden Bennett 10:51 and Samuel Gross 10:55.
Fastest females were Leanne Corcoran 11:43, Grace Hosie 12:19 and Liz Simpson 12:28.
Connor Bennett ran a 23s personal best to secure the overall handicap win with an overall time of 12:30. Other PB’s were ran by Hadden Bennett 11s, Charlie Brown 37s, Maddex Gosper 5m21s, James West 5s, Karen Mudge 16s, Trevor Jones 38s, Kate Elligett 38s, Oscar Meek 20s, Robyn Mulhall 40s and Kelly Jurd 2s. Also on Wednesday Jai Anlezark 75 runs, Charlie Brown 25 runs and Sharon Hyde 25 runs were presented with a medal recognising club runs.
In the Junior Spring Carnival the top performers were:
1-3y – Madison Bolton.
4-6y – Madeleine Mori, Emily McGreal, Emerson Gosper.
Boys – Hayden Bolton, Cooper Williamson.
7-9y – Lucy Jurd, Tilly Thornton, Claire Anlezark.
Boys – Maddex Gosper
10-12y – Grace Hosie, Jocelyn Blair.
Boys – Charlie Brown, Blake Gleeson, Flynn Thornton.
13-15y – Kiera Ditchfield.
Boys – Hadden Bennett, Samuel Gross, Jai Anlezark.
This Sunday the Club run is at Bulgas Road, starting at 9am with 3, 5 & 10km distances available.
The Trail Hustlers also have the Mount Arthur trail run on this Sunday at Wellington. Run starts at 9am at the ‘Old Reservoir Picnic Area’ on Bushrangers Creek Road. For more details check out the website.
The club is looking for nominations for ‘runner of the year’ and ‘junior runner of the year’, so please think about nominating someone you think deserves recognition for their performances during the last 12 months.
Entries are open for the Orange Running Festival, to be held on the weekend of March 7th and 8th 2020.
