EDITORIAL REPORT FOR CWD Saturday 5th February 2022

Last Sunday, we returned to the beautiful scenic run through the vines at Highland heritage. 58 members lifted their feet over the long grass and dodged the holes to wind through the course 1 to 5 times. It was a warm morning but with some cloud coverage, a great morning was had by all.

The leading club members in each distance were:

2km
Female – Courtney Hayes 11:16, Emily Blore 14:44, Jan Ceballos 15:35.
Male – Angus Finlay 10:01, Mike Cooper 10:25, Andrew McArdle 17:24.

4km
Female – Alicia Anlezark 24:12, Colette Robinson 26:44, Jenny Clough 27:17.
Male – Eddie Feeney 22:38, Gary Taylor 28:31, George Rutledge 39:08.

6km
Female – Nicola Blore 31:24, Amy Robinson 32:42, Claire Gates 36:27.
Male – Peter Finlay 24:20, Mark Thomas 29:11, Hugh Daintith 30:42.

8km
Female – Samantha Pluymers 54:53, Sarah Passey 56:26.
Male – Zac Rosser 32:58, Brett Rosser 39:01, Maxwell Horne 44:03.

10km
Female – Ayako Kusui 56:58, Juste Kucinskaite 59:16, Kim Jarvis 1:10:22.
Male – Jack Daintith 41:38, Daryl Roweth 53:07, Richard Hogg 1:03:45.

 

 

Last Wednesday’s Elephant Park run set many runners and walkers into a muggy, with no to little breeze situation. 52 members still sprung around the track completing 1, 2 or 3 laps. Top three males were Jack Daintith 9:49, Peter Finlay 10:12 and Mark Thomas 12:03. Completing the top three ladies were Nicola Blore 13:13, Luisa Sims 14:18 and Yonneka Hill 14:44.

A personal best was recorded this week by Angus Finlay, knocking off 31 seconds to run 14:19 for the 3 laps.

Congratulations to our achievement medal receivers this week: Mike Cooper has achieved an amazing 900 club runs.

This Sunday’s run location is at Berrilee, with the start between 8:30am and 9am. The distances marked out will be 2km, 4km, 8.1km and 11km. Please check the website for more course information. Safety warning for snakes if it is a warm morning.

Wednesday runs will commence at 4pm and you can run any time after that as long as you are finished by 5:30pm.

The Orange Running Festival is getting closer with 4 weeks to go. 5th and 6th of March 2022 at Gosling Creek. Get yourself entered on the festival website, there is a distance for everyone.
