On another hot Sunday morning out at Kinross Lane 47 runners club members tackled another slightly undulating track in and around the forest.
The fastest runners over the various distances were:
2km – female – Anne Maree Ryan 14:34, Claire Gates 14:58, Liz Simpson 16:31
Male – Jack Daintith 9:32, Mike Cooper 12:30, Michael Sharp 13:03
4.8km – female – Milla Jurd 27:50, Alison Spurway 28:25, Lauren Beels 33:17
Male – Peter Finley 20:57, Jake Munckton 24:08, Bill Fairgrieve 33:31
9km – Female – Kelly Jurd 1:01:59, Kim Jarvis 1:03:12, Anna Daintith 1:13:29
Male – Basil Baldwin 1:09:35, Charlie Brown 1:28:02
10km – female – Carissa Hickey 55:03, Ursula Wilson 55:45, Ayako Kusui 1:03:09
Male – Sam Collins 44:18, Iain McLean 45:37, Joel Broadfoot 54:31
The handicap winner was veteran Runners club member Gary Taylor, who completed the 2km distance in 16:41.
On Wednesday at Elephant Park 86 starters took to the track in slightly cooler conditions, with the fastest runners over the 3 laps being: Brad Simmons 11:18, Hugh Corcoran 11:39 and Jack Daintith 11:47. Just behind the top three was the first of the ladies with Leanne Corcoran running 11:52, while Ursula Wilson 13:23 and Sophie Kenway 13:40 filled the places With Sophie’s time a 17s Personal Best time. Other PB’s were recorded by Kim Roweth 14s, Sky Napier 21s, Benjamin Hill 1m17s, Becky Went 33s, Madeline Hill 2m12s, Yonneka Hill 1m16s, Brendan Cantwell 6s and Frank Monti 6s.
Good luck to the runners heading across the ditch to compete in the Tarawera Ultramarathon trail races at Rotorua, NZ. Hopefully I haven’t missed anyone who is competing and the events they are tackling:
Alison Broughton is doing the 100 miler (160km) and Iain McLean 100 km.
John Betts, Alison Spurway, Ian Spurway, Joel Broadfoot, Lauren Beels, Melissa Smith, Kate Evans, Renai McArdle are all doing the 50km.
Tackling the 21km are Alex McLean, Sue Betts, Maree Moss, Anne-Marie Ryan, Toby Beels, Erin Dunkley- Gibson.
This Sunday the club run will be held at Clergate School, starting at 9am, with 3km, 5km, 7.5km and 10km distances available.
