EDITORIAL REPORT FOR CWD Saturday 14th January 2023

Last Sunday’s run was at Hiney Road, and we had an attendance of 76 members. This course is south of Orange with a section of dirt road but has some very nice views to take in as your run/walk along. The distance choices were 2.4, 5, 7.6 or 10km.

For our usual Wednesday run 57 members attended Elephant Park completing 1, 2 or 3 laps. Top three men were Peter Finlay 10:07, Nick Irwin 10:39 and Derek Thompson 10:47. The top three women were Isobel Curran 12:15, Ayako Kusui 12:40 and Danielle Klingberg 13:45.
Personal bests were achieved by Derek Thompson by 1 second, as they say ‘every second counts.
Achievement medals this were awarded to Bill Fairgreive for an amazing 1,400 runs under his belt, Lacey Curran with 50 runs, Clifford Smith with 25 runs, Merissa Horne with 100 runs and Beckie Plant with 100 runs. Well done to all runners for their individual achievements.
This Sunday’s run is at Emu Swamp Road. For those in the know about this run will be more than prepared for the all-mighty hill climb at the beginning of the course. The views are well worth everyone efforts and the coffee afterwards is an excellent reward. Runners/walkers have the choice of 3.2, 4.6, 7.5 and 10km.
