Well Sunday was definitely a fun morning out, so if you missed out, fingers crossed we do another one soon. Special mention to those who added in the connection with nature and ran barefoot. 34 members headed to Waratahs for a relay in the very warm hours of the morning. Participants drew out a partner where they had to alternately complete 3x1km loops as a relay team.

The fastest 3 teams to complete the relay were:

  1. Phil Cranney (11:07) and Leanne Corcoran (11:19) Total team time 22:26.
  2. Mark Thomas (11:10) and Kinisha Roweth (12:53) Total team time 24:03.
  3. Eddie Feeney (12:12) and Lucy Jurd (13:00) Total team time 25:13.


The top 3 teams by handicap were:

  1. John Hannan (23:08) and Gary Taylor (16:21) Handicap team time 26:56.
  2. Glenys Rosser (24:35) and Simon Lun (12:40) Handicap team time 31:15.
  3. Lyn O’Mara (20:17) and Kim Roweth (15:18) Handicap team time 33:32.


42 members headed to Elephant Park in the very humid evening of Wednesday for a run or walk completing 1, 2 or 3 laps. Top three males were Chris Pooley 10:41, Mark Thomas 11:41 and Eddie Feeney 12:26. Completing the top three ladies were Kinisha Roweth 14:26, Yonneka Hill 14:45 and Kim Jarvis 15:41.

Personal bests were recorded this week by Benjamin Hill 36 secs and Ruth Brown 5 secs.

Congratulations to our achievement medal receiver this week: Merissa Horne 25 club runs and Jamie Corcoran 300 club runs.

This Sunday’s run is location is Charles Sturt University, with the start between 8:30am and 9am. The lap distance will be determined on the day, and you have the choice to complete 1 to 6 laps. Please check the website for more course information.

Wednesday runs will commence at 4pm and you can run any time after that as long as you are finished by 5:30pm.

The Orange Running festival is fast approaching with early bird registrations now closed. You still have plenty of time to pick a distance and enter. Whether you are running or not if you are interested in helping out with a volunteer position, please let Anthony or Richard know.
