On Sunday 86 runners travelled out the Bargwanna Road track in sometimes misty showers on a watchfree day where you guess your finishing time, run without a watch and see who gets the closest to their guessed time. Unbelievably 10 people finished within 10 seconds of their pre-race time and even more incredibly Brian Rix, one of our inspiring, young at heart runners, was spot on to the second with 53:00 minutes for the 10km run. A super run for a man in his seventies.  A big congratulations to the other 9 members (within 10 seconds), Amber Rich, Basil Baldwin, Erin Gibson, Tanya Connolly, Brian Sharp, Rodney Hocking, Bill Fairgrieve, Noah Lamrock and Julie Chapman, for guessing so accurately.

The first 3 female runners in each distance were:

3km: Ella Lamrock (15:08), Caitlin Edmenstone (16:23) & Rebecca Lincoln (17:46)

5km: Amber Rich (21:32), Leanne Corcoran (21:48) & Lily Craig (26:11)

10km: Jessica Richards (44:22), Alice Munro (47:24) & Nicki Mileno (47:25)

The first 3 male runners in each distance were:

3km: Noah Lamrock (13:11), Jim Rich (14:46) & Mark Harvey (17:18)

5km: Jack Daintith (19:59), Brandon Connolly (20:26) & Frank Ostini (21:01)

10km: Mark Chapman (42:19), Joel Kitto (44:18) & Peter Mueller (45:37)

Recently John West competed in the NSW Walking Championship at the picturesque Parklands, Glendenning in Western Sydney. John finished with the silver medal in the 55 – 64 years age group in the 10km event in a time of 1h12m53s.

Wednesday night at Elephant Park saw another roll up of around 130 runners and walkers out on the course doing their laps. Mitchell Williamson was again the fastest with a scintillating 3 laps at 8:39. The improving Hugh Daintith was the overall winner with a Personal Best time of 15:25.

Wednesday’s Personal Best List: Thomas Pell 44s, Daryl Roweth 2s, Mark Chapman 2s, Hugh Daintith 19s, Jack Dean 2s, Paras Meates 1s, Jameson Monks 21s, Noah Tracey 2m54s, Renai McArdle 3s, Cameron Ross 1m27s,  Ati Sadr 1m6s, Jessica Clowes 12s, Rebecca Lincoln 29s, Sabrina Manickam 44s, Fred Bangert 12s, Arabella Harvey 44s, Victoria Hamels 22s, Andrew McArdle 1m32s, Joy Harvey 8s and Alice Munro 5s.
