Last Sunday, Orange Runners club held its weekend run at Bulgas Road, where 62 members had the choice of 3km, 5km, 10km and 14km routes, taking in the environs of Suma Park Dam, Kinross Forest and Clifton Grove. The 14km is a new distance for this location, and is now the longest, toughest run in our regular non-trail rotation. The first three finishers by gender for each distance are as follows:3km – Men: Rikky Bangert (12:15), Elliot Bangert (13:18), and Noah Lamrock (13:58). Women: Lily Bangert (16:21), Alicia Ross (16:50), and Michelle Whiteley (17:24).
5km – Men: Jack Daintith (22:50), Lachlan Ross (24:06), and Hugh Daintith (25:09). Women: Lucy McEvoy (25:57), Kerrie Lindsay (29:49), and Marta Diemar (30:16).
10km – Men: Brad Simmons (46:21), and Jackson Boucher (54:04).
14km – Men: Iain McLean (62:58), Dave Ross (72:04) and Noel Annett (72:51). 12 people participated in the 14km event.
Congratulations to all who participated, Fred Bangert was declared the winner.
The Wednesday afternoon Elephant Park 3 lap handicap event saw 51 competitors take part in chilly conditions. The fastest men officially recorded were Jack Daintith (11:26), Lachlan Ross (11:31) and Noah Lamrock (11:37). The fastest ladies were Lauren Kerwick (11:12), Jessie Dean (11:14) and Abby Dean (12:32). Fastest confirmed lap of the Elephant Park circuit was clocked by Jack Daintith at 3:27. PB’s were achieved by Ethan McArdle (10s), Harry Dean (43s), and Hannah Gross (1:06). Hannah Gross was declared the overall winner. Well done to all who took part.
This Sunday sees the club back at Jack Brabham Park, where members will have the opportunity to complete one to five laps of the traditional 1.75km circuit, albeit in a reverse direction. This will commence at 9am. Please note that for winter the Wednesday Handicap Time Trial run at Elephant Park will commence at 4:45pm with a mass start.
