Last Sunday, Orange Runner’s Club held its the regular weekend run was held at Bargwanna Road in frosty conditions, where runners had the choice of 3km, 5km or 10km distances on an out and back route. The first 3 finishers by gender for each distance are listed below:

3k – Male: Rikky Bangert (12:21), Elliot Bangert (13:08) and Noah Lamrock (13:55). Female: Tanya Connolly (17:28).

5k – Male: Felix Koeppen (22:42), Alistair Merrifield (23:12) and Hugh Daintith (24:08). Female: Ella Lamrock (24:31), Kim Jarvis (29:12) and Jane Fairgrieve (29:13)

10k – Male: Mitch Essex (43:10), Joel Kitto (49:56) and Stephen Blackwood (51:40). Female: Danielle Klingberg (59:07) and Renai McArdle (66:11)

A giant thumbs up to all who participated, Ethan McArdle was declared the winner.

The Wednesday afternoon Elephant Park 3 lap handicap event saw 59 competitors take part in pleasantly mild conditions. The fastest men were Noah Lamrock (11:43), Logan Whiteley (12:01) and Alistair Merrifield (12:06). The fastest ladies were Ella Lamrock (12:22), Ursula Wilson (12:32) and Leanna Corcoran (12:40). Fastest lap of the Elephant Park circuit was clocked by Connor Whitely at 3:53 for his last lap. PB’s were achieved by Beau Keegan (77s), and Michelle Whiteley (6s) and Glen Diemar (10s). Beau Keegan was declared the overall winner. Well done to all who took part.
Last Weekend, a variety of different events took place. Nearest was the Mudgee Running Festival. Notable performances in the 5k included Adam Reeves (22:19 – 2nd overall!), Lily Craig (26:13 – first in category), and Sue Betts (37:16). The 10km saw solid performances from Adam Reeves (39:36 – 3rd overall!), and Judy Tarleton (67:32). The 21km Half Marathon so strong effort from Mike Cooper (1:41), John Betts (1:53), Greg Shapter (2:02), and John Moss (2:09). Finally, the 42km Marathon saw Ursula Wilson come in at 3:34 (2nd female), and Daryl Roweth came in 3:37 (3rd in category). At the Glenbrook Trail Marathon, Iain McLean came 4th in a time of 3:24. Members also attended the Wagga Trail Marathon, however results are unavailable at time of writing. If a member should attend an external event, they are encouraged to report results back to the club facebook page or publicity officer, so they may be properly acknowledged.

The Spring calendar is now out, with many exciting runs in scenic locations planned, with the monthly trail runs continuing. This Sunday sees the club back at Favell Road on what is one of the clubs most difficult runs, with arguably the steepest initial 2km in Australian running! Members have a choice of 3km, 5.8km, 8.1km and 11.2km starting from Byng Church at 9am. Until the end of August, the Wednesday event at Elephant Park is a mass start, commencing at 4:45pm.
