Last Sunday, Orange Runner’s Club held its the regular weekend run was held at Favell Road, where 35 runners had the choice of 3km, 5.8km 8.5km and 11.2km distances on an unsealed and extremely steep out and back route. The first 3 finishers by gender for each distance are listed below:

3k – Male: Jack Daintih (14:41), Gary Taylor (19:41) and John Hannan (27:10). Female: Tiffany McCormick (18:06), Julie Quinn (21:39) and Lucy McEvoy (23:15).

5.8k – Male: Noah Lamrock (25:56), Joel Kitto (28:20) and Daniel Wait (30:50) Female: Ella Lamrock (30:46), Man Ha Mackay (40:34) and Sue Betts (45:22).

8.5km – no entrants

11.2k – Male: Iain McLean (51:25), Anthony Daintith (61:03) and John Betts (61:30). Female: Danielle Klingberg (67:45), Kim Jarvis (71:23) and Jane Fairgrieve (71:23)

A giant thumbs up to all who participated, Julie Quinn was declared the winner.

The Wednesday afternoon Elephant Park 3 lap handicap event saw 52 competitors take part in pleasant conditions. The fastest men were Rikky Bangert (10:54), Noah Lamrock (11:55) and Glen Diemar (12:08). The fastest ladies were Ella Lamrock (12:23), Ursula Wilson (12:28) and Eva Keegan (12:49). Fastest lap of the Elephant Park circuit was clocked by Rikky Bangert at 3:22 for his first lap. PB’s were achieved by Belinda McCauley (23s), John Keegan (20s), Eva Keegan (4s), John Betts (12s), Anna Daintith (2s), Glen Dieman (2:00), and Tiffany McCormick (25s). Daniel McCauley was declared the winner. Well done to all who took part.
Last weekend saw he Dubbo Stampede, with members taking part in a variety of distances, from the 5.5km event all the way to the full 42.2km Marathon. Member results the club is aware of are as follows:

10km: Mitchell Williamson (34:47)(1st overall), Nicole Williamson (42:46)(2nd female), Daryl Roweth (46:03), Russell Tym (55:27), Stephen Blackwood (49:38), Fiona Littlejohn (1:00:50), Emily Sammut (1:13:15), Brett Sammut (1:13:15),

 

21.1km: Jared Sullivan (1:24)(7th male), Brad Simmons (1:39), Ursula Wilson (1:39)(4th female), Mike Cooper (1:41), Gareth Thomas (1:46), Nicholas Thomas (1:56), Wayne Sunderland (2:00).

 

42.2km: Katrina Smith (4:23)(Debut Marathon). The author acknowledges member Ursula W for her assistance with race results.

 

The Spring calendar is now out, with many exciting runs in scenic locations planned, with the monthly trail runs continuing. This Sunday sees the club back at Jack Brabham Park on one of our flatter courses. Members have a choice of 1-5 laps of a 1.75km circuit, starting at 9am. There is also the monthly trail run starting at 6:45 am from Mitchells Way intersection on the Cargo Rd (see website for further information on location, directions and mandatory equipment). As winter is finished, the Wednesday event at Elephant will now revert to its regular 5pm staggered format.
