Last Sunday, Orange Runners Club had its regular Sunday run at Orange Botanic Gardens where 83 runners had the choice of one to six laps of the 1.6K lap around the gardens, this time in reverse to the normal direction. The first 3 finishers by gender for each distance are as follows:
1 laps/1.6K – Female: Rosie Corcoran (14:05), Milly Benton (14:13) and Donna Irwin (14:41) Male: Lachlan Ross (7:43), Cameron Ross (8:46) and Jack Flemming (10:00).
2 laps/3.2K – Female: Amber Rich (14:00), Tanya Connolly (18:21) and Kate Harris (18:49) Male: Tim Murphy (12:53), David Craig (15:19) and Wayne Stewart (18:08).
3 lap/4.8K – Female: Ella Lamrock (23:33), Lily Craig (25:02) and Alison Spurway (26:08). Male: Hugh Daintith (22:29), Jack Daintith (23:31) and Hugh Corcoran (23:41)
4 laps/6.4K – Female: Sue Betts (45:19) and Glenys Rosser (49:38) Male: Iain McLean (26:52), Anthony Daintith (28:05) and Alistair Merrifield (29:19)
5 laps/8K – Female: Kelly Gleeson (42:37). Male: Richard Eggleston (39:25), John Betts (40:38) and Pete Mueller (40:40).
6 laps/9.6K – Female: Leanne Corcoran (43:23), Ursula Wilson (49:47) and Alicia Ross (51:09). Male: Sam Collins (42:00), Gareth Thomas (50:00) and David Ross (51:05).
A big thumbs up to all who participated, Pete Mueller was declared the winner.
On Wednesday, 71 competitors took part in the regular 3 lap handicap event, under warm conditions. The fastest ladies were Leanna Corcoran (11:55), Lily Craig (12:05) and Ella Lamrock (12:34). The fastest men were Rikky Bangert (10:34), Noah Lamrock (11:09) and Anthony Daintith (11:24). PBs were achieved by Lily Craig (9s) and Kate Harris (34s) Well done to all who took part, Lauren Beels was declared the winner.
This Sunday sees the club back at Clergate School at 9am, where members can try 3K, 5K on a relatively easy surface, or 10K on a very challenging surface! This coming Wednesday sees the regular 3-lap handicap event at 5pm.
Club members should be aware of the AGM to be held after the Sunday Run on 22 April at Elephant Park (Approximately starting just after 10am). All positions are open, for members to put their own mark on running our fantastic club.
