Last Sunday, the regular Orange Runners Club run was held at Gosling Ck, where 68 runners had the choice of pleasant 2.3K, 4.6K, and 9.6K routes. The first 3 finishers by gender for each distance are as follows:

2.3K – Female: Amber Rich (10:11), Pip Martin (11:57) and Olivia Martin (13:56). Male: Graeme Tooth (13:36), Dan Hunter (13:44) and David Hunter (14:05).

4.6K – Female: Belinda McCauley (25:24), Molly Dean (26:00) and Grace Hosie (27:43). Male: Alistair Merrifield (21:38), Stephen Martin (23:31) and Matthew Dean (23:37).

9.6K –  Female: Leanne Corcoran (44:47), Alison Spurway (51:51) and Kim Jarvis (58:09) Male: Joel Kitto (45:07), Noel Annett (45:07) and Jamie Corcoran (51:10)

A big thumbs up to all who participated, Belinda McCauley was declared the winner.

Last Sunday also saw many past and current members undertake the Ironman event at Port Macquarie – consisting of a 3.8K swim, 180km bike ride and the a full 42km marathon. In the full Ironman, well done to Simon Lun (14:54), Kate Brien (13:01), Alison Broughton (14:07). Greg Thornton, Kate Thornton, Kinisha and Daryl Roweth, Claire Ward and Leanne Vogler all completed the shorter 70.3 event, however final results were unavailable at time of writing.

More locally, there was the Bathurst RSL 10K and Half Marathon, which has historically been contested by a strong Orange contingent. In the 10K there was  Mitch Williamson (33:32 – 1st overall), Nathan Sutherland (35:22 – 3rd overall), Nicole Williamson (42:23  – 2nd Female), David Gibson (45:39), Hugh Daintith (47:12), Kelly Gleeson (48:23), Wayne Stewart (54:37 – 1st in Category), Erin Gibson (57:49), Carrie Williamson (58:34), Tyrone Rudman (58:33), Anna Daintith (1:00:32), Sue Betts (1:03:43), Lynda Chapman (1:12:23), Glenys Rosser (1:12:27 – 1st in Category) and Susie Patey (1:22:40).

In the Half Marathon there was Sam Collins (1:19:25), Anthony Daintith (1:30:53), Adam Reeves (1:30:53), Ursula Wilson (1:36:24 – 3rd Female) Acedia Weltschmertz (1:41:02), Gareth Thomas (1:44:51), Richard Eggleston (1:47:10), Karen Neal (1:48:19) and Stephen Blackwood (2:23:49). Well done to all, you did us proud!

On Wednesday, 81 competitors took part in the regular 3 lap handicap event, under very cool conditions. The fastest ladies were Leanne Corcoran (11:31), Ursula Wilson and Ella Lamrock (12:52). The fastest men were Tim Murphy (10:09), Rikky Bangert (10:26) and Stephen Martin (11:07). PBs were achieved by Kate Thornton (18s), Kelly Jurd (14s), Tim Murphy (1s) and Rebecca Kennedy (33s) Annabelle Hosie (34s). Well done to all who took part, Michael Kennard was declared the winner.

Just before the Wednesday run, participation medals were handed out for Lucy Jurd (25 runs),
Jacob Broadfoot (25 runs), Tim Murphy (25 runs), Steve Martin (50 runs) Ursula Wilson (300) runs. Thank you folks, for your continued support of club events.

This Sunday sees the club back at Elephant Park for our regular Sunday Run, where members can try 1 o 6 laps of the 1.6km route. In addition, members can meet up at Kinross Forest (Bulgas Rd Carpark), 6:45am for 7am start for a challenging trail run (see website for mandatory equipment). This coming Wednesday sees the regular 3-lap handicap event at 5pm.
