CWD : 27th October 2018
A magnificent spring day greeted 92 members at Clergate School last Sunday. Welcome to our newest members Simon and Cjay Fogarty along with Todd, Hamish, Riley and Darcy Langthorne – hope that you enjoyed your first run with the club. Congratulations to Anne-Marie Ryan who received her 25 run medal and to Jamie Corcoran his 200 run medal.
Along with the normal 3k and 5k courses, a new 10k course was set (or should be call it a magical mystery tour) due to the lake on the old course – no directions given other than “trust me”! Pleased to report that 26 members ran the 10k and all of them returned backhome safely – seems to be very positive feedback and some great views back to Mount Canobolas. Well done to Angela Broadfoot who was the winner.
In the 3k, it was Milla Jurd (13:57) first home ahead of Linda Corben and Tanya Connolly in the ladies and Dan Benton (13:47) holding off strong challenges from Flynn Thornton and Kim Anlezark.
It was the young bucks Noah Lamrock (21:05) and Hugh Daintith (22:24) fighting it out in the 5k, with Liz Simpson splitting the pair with 22 on the dot. Well done to Ella Lamrock and husband and wife team Kylie and Michael Duncan filling the minor placings.
It was a three way tussle up the front of the 10k with Iain McLean (42:16) outlasting Anthony Daintith and Tim Murphy on the new course. In the ladies there was not much between Leanne Corcoran (49.08), Ursula Wilson and Alicia Ross.
A warm afternoon greeted members at Elephant Park on Wednesday. Congratulations to Iain McLean who was presented 200 run medal. Well done to Rikky Bangertand Jocelyn Blair who were presented their first place ribbons from the recent spring racing carnival.
Linda Corben was the winner with a time of 15:08. Placegetters were:
Male:
1. Rikky Bangert 10.58
2. Iain McLean 11.00
3. Anthony Daintith 11.06
Female:
1. Carissa Hickey 12.11
2. Leanne Corcoran 12.25
