EDITORIAL REPORT FOR CWD Saturday 17th June 2023

68 runners and walkers participated last Sunday at Stagecoach Road. It was a crisp, sunny morning and members had the choice of 2km, 3km, 5km, 8km, or 12km.
Conditions were perfect with 3 long standing course records broken.
In the 3km distance both Nick Irwin (12:33) and Isobel Curran (13:31) broke records dating back to 2016 and 2018 respectively and Jack Daintith smashed the 12km record in a new time of 46:15 (previously held since 2019).

Male – Derek Thompson 36:45 (3rd fastest course time), Cameron Ross 37:33, Phil Cranney 37:37
12km
Male – Jack Daintith 46:15 (NEW course record), Iain McLean 54:46, Maxwell Horne 1:01:10
For this week’s Wednesday run 81 members attended Elephant Park completing 1, 2 or 3 laps. The top three men were Peter Finlay 10:17, Nick Irwin 11:58 and Philip Thomas 12:00. The top three women were Rhianna Hume 12:35, Courtney Thompson 13:57 and Jannell Hooper 14:25.
3km Personal Bests were achieved by Matt Alexander 12:09 (5 seconds), Anna Pyle 14:35 (9 seconds), Molly Pyle 15:04 (47 seconds), Hamish Pankhurst 15:13 (3 minutes 46 seconds), Carey Colgan 15:52 (11 seconds) and Xuan Thi Le 19:00 (6 minutes 20 minutes).
Achievement medals were awarded to Jim Micucci with 25 runs and Kinisha Roweth with an amazing 600 runs.
This Sunday’s run is at Waratah’s Sports Ground where we’ll be running team relays – always fun and prizes will be up for grabs!
