EDITORIAL REPORT FOR CWD Saturday 23rd September 2023

What a huge weekend of racing we had! Congratulations to our members competing at the Sydney Marathon in very hot conditions. At this event, Jack Daintith competed in the Australian Marathon Championships running a PB of 2:57:18 and finishing in 20th place.

Well done also to our members who ran at Bathurst in the 7.5km Bathurst Edgell Jog last Sunday.
Meanwhile back in Orange, 50 members attended our run at Hiney Road. The fastest in each distance were:

2.4 km
Female: Sophie Charge 12:33, Donna Irwin 15:37, Penny Charge 19:19
Male: Nick Irwin 9:30 (NEW course record), Henry Charge 10:17, Michael Sharp 23:00

5 km
Female: Paige Alexander 38:08, Sue Brotherton 54:18, Gemma Brotherton 54:19
Male: Mark Thomas 21:42, David Charge 24:47, Russell Tym 30:14

7.6 km
Female: Kim Jarvis 50:25, Jane Fairgrieve 50:26, Marley Beahan 50:54

Female: Nicola Blore 49:24
Male: Griffin Robinson 40:30, Tim Robinson 41:43, Matthew Wilkins 54:01

Congratulations to Nick Irwin who broke the 2.4km course record, running 9:30!

82 members attended this week’s Wednesday run. The top three men were Jack Taylor 10:07, Nick
Irwin 10:48, Nicholas Thomas 11:19. The top three women were Kylie Duncan 13:47, Isobel Curran
13:51, Samantha Pluymers 14:48.

Personal bests were achieved by Jack Taylor 10:07 (30 seconds), Henry Blacklow 15:04 (1 minute 52
seconds), Gilbert Roth 17:18 (30 seconds) and Lewis Mullins 18:29 (50 seconds).

Achievement medals were awarded this week to Fraser Finlay and Henry Charge with 25 runs, Clara
Hooper and Zoe Finlay with 75 runs and Lacey Curran with 100 runs. Well done to these junior
runners!

Tomorrow’s run is at Bargwanna Road where members can choose from 3km, 5km, 8km, or 10km.

Together we achieve individual goals.
