Tristan takes on the world.
Tristan Harrison, aged 20, will be representing Australia in the World Triathlon Championships with the help of Orange Runners Club. The race will be held in Auckland, New Zealand on the 22nd of October this year where Tristan will be competing in the 20-24 age group. The 25.75 kilometre race is divided into a 750m swim, 20 kilometre cycle and a 5 kilometre run. Orange Runners Club has raised $1,001 which has paid for Tristan’s uniform and has made it possible for him to travel to New Zealand for the race. Tristan feels overwhelmed about the support Orange Runners Club have given him. This is Tristan’s first time competing in the World Triathlon Championships and has been preparing for the race for 14 months. Tristan is feeling nervous in the lead up to the race but feels that the swim will be his strength. Tristan states that his ambition for the race is to “To do the best I can and come away with a podium placement”. Winners of the race will receive a medal and world ranking. We all wish Tristan good luck from Orange Runners Club.
