Lun on the run around Lake
Article by Kinisha Roweth
The last Sunday of 2013 saw the Orange Runners Club venture out to Lake Canobolas with many trying to run off their Christmas cheer. Liz Simpson was the quickest over the 1 lap 3km course with a slippery 13:34 as she cleared away from the field. Lily Craig again performed well to finish 2nd ahead of Meagan Coulson-Knight who ran on for 3rd. Jackson Boucher (14:04) lead the guys home as he got away from Bill Fairgrieve and Greg Pell who ended up with identical times.
Brad Simmons (23:40) resumed his running battle with Brandon Connolly in the 6km run as Connolly finished only 40 odd seconds behind Simmons. Connor Whiteley was a similar distance away in third spot. Sue Dean 25:52 was also not far away from the faster guys as she lead the ladies home to finish ahead of the impressive Nicole Williamson and Rhianna Fitzpatrick not far behind in 3rd.
Triathlete Simon Lun, was the overall winner after an impressive run over the 3km distance finishing just behind the placegetters.
