With a return to an almost standard Runners club Sunday, the run was also marked with the end of daylight savings. Before the start Daryl Roweth was awarded a certificate recognising his 300 club runs.

Although beaten off the start line by his brother Noah, it was Logan Whiteley who was the quickest over one lap of the Jack Brabham track completing the 1.75km course in 7:41minutes to also be the overall winner on the day. Wayne Stewart was the second runner home with Harry Dean not too far behind him in third place. Of the ladies doing the 1 lap Bec Halls (10:58) was first home with Denise Quinlan and Georgie Halls filling the placings.

Two laps or 3.5km’s seemed to be the popular distance, with some 44 finishers all up and some very quick times. Liz Simpson led the way with a super quick 14:28, while Ursula Wilson recovered from her mountain challenge effort to be close behind Liz. The super fit Leanne Corcoran came in 3rd as she continues her preparation for the Gold Coast marathon. Jack Daintith (14:52) was the fastest of the guys, just ahead of Mitch Essex and Fletcher Harvey.

The three lap (5.25km) run was the least favourite distance with only eight runners going to or bailing out at that point. David Craig was the king of this run, clocking 25:56 and finishing clear of our walking machine John West. Michelle Srzich (27:35) was the fastest of the girls as she finished in front of Paras Meates and Frances Taylor Wood.

Proving to be a popular distance choice with 32 finishers, the 7km (4 laps) saw Brad Simmons (26:46) set a scorching pace to finish in front of the super consistent Mark Chapman and Daryl Roweth getting the 3rd fastest time.

Excelling in the ladies was Alice Munro who ran 33:17 for the 4 laps as she finished just ahead of Kinisha Roweth & Ellie Mackin.

On Wednesday night again over 100 runners and walkers were out on the Elephant Park track. Brad Simmons followed on from his Sunday effort to blast around the course in the fastest time of the night at 10:40.

Amongst a host of Personal Bests was Lucinda Buckland with a huge 1m 46s PB getting her overall time to 16:36 and take out the winners prize for the night.

Other PB’s were set by Tim Edmonstone (17s), Harry Buckland (22s), Leon Lincoln (8s), Cara Seale (13s), Helen Griffiths (1s), Eidan Monks (8s), Angus Thompson (1m 42s), Rebecca Lincoln (24s), Cleopatra Nam (48s), Cassie Harvey (3m 55s), Sue Betts (30s), Julie Swain (2s), Kim Roweth (8s) and Keagan Wilson (1m 2s).
