What a big weekend for a number of our members with runners racing at the Tarawera Ultramarathon in Rotorua, New Zealand and Kosciuszko National Park trail runs.

At Tarawera in the Miler (100 mile) race, Alison Broughton completed the 165km distance in a mind boggling 34hr47min34sec.

In the 100km distance Iain McLean powered through the trail in a fantastic time of 13:28:57.

There were a number of Orange runners competing over the other distances with all achieving outstanding results which included the 50km:

Joel Broadfoot 5:29:36, Ian Spurway 5:48:55, Alison Spurway 6:31:28, Renai McArdle 7:54:34, John Betts 8:07:00, Lauren Beels 8:59:35 and Melissa Smith 9:15:13.

In a bit of a change up for runners, wet weather greeted them at Clergate on Sunday. But for the 28 runners that braved the phenomenon of water falling from the sky and a little wind, it was quite refreshing. The conditions forced a slight change to the course with the 10km run altered to 2 laps of the 5km course.
