EDITORIAL REPORT FOR CWD Saturday 19th February 2022

Last Sunday, was a beautiful warm morning back at Spring creek dam. 59 members ran or walked along the side of the full dam, with some stopping mid run to partake in some blackberry eating while others waited to the end to pick their share to take home.

 

The leading club members in each distance were:

Male – Trevor Jones 19:24, Brian Penrose 1:30:00.

4.8km
Female – Danielle Klingberg 24:34, Kinisha Roweth 26:45, Kim Roweth 26:49.

Male – Clive Blore 23:51, James Thomas 25:23, Gareth Thomas 28:31.

7.2km
Female – Lyn O’Mara 55:21.

Male – Tony Fitzpatrick 37:38, Dexter Lloyd 38:56, Mitchell Lloyd 38:56.

9.6km
Female – Nicola Blore 46:30, Ayako Kusui 51:17, Juste Kucinskaite 54:27.

Male – Mark Thomas 42:45, Hugh Daintith 45:13, Eddie Feeney 46:32.

 

 

Wednesday’s Elephant Park run was a lovely evening with 49 members rolling around the track completing 1, 2 or 3 laps. Top three males were Jack Daintith 10:34, Mark Thomas 11:54 and Phillip Thomas 12:02. Completing the top three ladies were Leanne Corcoran 12:31, Nicola Blore 13:15 and Samantha Pluymers 14:53.

Personal bests were recorded this week by Benjamin Hill 1sec, Stacey Yaroslavceff 29secs and Merissa Horne 14secs.

Congratulations to our achievement medal receivers this week: Nicola Blore 75 runs and a big one to for Kim Roweth who achieved 800 club runs.

This Sunday’s run location is our annual run at Basil Baldwin’s, with the start between 8:30am and 9am. The distances marked out will be 3km, 5km, 8km and 11.5km. Before we start there will be a short special meeting that requires attendance. After you have finished your run, there will be morning tea provided by Jean and Basil Baldwin and ORC so stick around for some treats. Please check the website for more course information. Safety warning for snakes if it is a warm morning.

Wednesday runs will commence at 4pm and you can run any time after that as long as you are finished by 5:30pm.

Only 2 weeks to go till the Orange Running Festival, 5th and 6th of March 2022 at Gosling Creek. Get yourself entered on the festival website, there is a distance for everyone. Please also get in contact if you can lend a hand sometime throughout the weekend.
