EDITORIAL REPORT FOR CWD Saturday 26th February 2022

Last Sunday we had our annual run at Jean and Basil Baldwins. Thank you so much to the Baldwins for hosting this run at their property and putting on the morning tea afterwards. 55 members headed out to gallop around their beautiful paddocks.

 

The leading club members in each distance were:

5km

Female – Charlotte Meiring 17:34, Kinisha Roweth 18:17, Jean Meiring 20:56.

Male – Craig Penrose 18:07, Jamie Corcoran 22:16, John Hannan 28:05.

5km
Female – Leanne Corcoran 26:28, Kim Roweth 30:42, Claire Gates 30:50.

Male – Gary Taylor 36:27, Greg Shapter 46:25, Anthony Daintith 46:27.

8km
Female – Sarah Passey 53:39, Kim Jarvis 55:02, Jane Fairgreive 55:03.

Male – Chris Clough 41:00, Phillip Thomas 42:51, Mark Thomas 42:54.

11.5km
Female – Julie Quinn 1:01:44, Nicola Blore 1:02:09, Ayako Kusui 1:06:22.

Male – David Baldwin 52:08, Jack Daintith 53:25, Daryl Roweth 1:02:10.

 

Wednesday’s Elephant Park run had an evening breeze blowing while 57 members sprung around the track completing 1, 2 or 3 laps. Top three males were Peter Finlay 10:11, Jack Daintith 10:16 and Maxwell Horne 11:53. Completing the top three ladies were Nicola Blore 13:32, Courtney Hayes 13:37 and Yonneka Hill 14:29.

Personal bests were recorded this week by Stacey Yaroslavceff 24secs, Maxwell Horne 13secs, Merissa Horne 5secs and Paige Alexander 13secs.

Congratulations to our achievement medal receivers this week: Graham Fahy 700 club runs, Claire Gates 200 club runs and Phillip Thomas 25 club runs.

This Sunday’s run location is Stagecoach Rd, with the start between 8:30am and 9am. The distances marked out will be 2km, 3km, 5km, 8.5km and 12km. Please check the website for more course information. Be prepared for a steep climb near the beginning.

Wednesday runs will commence at 4pm and you can run any time after that as long as you are finished by 5:30pm.

One week till the Orange Running Festival Weekend! Good luck to all participating in any of the races and thank you to all who are volunteering! Remember it isn’t too late to enter a race or to volunteer to help make the weekend run well. See you out there achieving goals together.
