EDITORIAL REPORT FOR CWD Saturday 1st July 2023

Last Sunday 88 runners and walkers enjoyed a stunning morning at Spring Creek Dam.
The fastest in each distance were:

2.4 km
Female – Sophie Charge 15:14, Zoe Finlay 15:55, Gemma Brotherton 16:04
Male- Angus Finlay 11:05, Mike Cooper 11:45, Felix Carey 20:30

4.8 km
Female – Isobel Curran 23:04, Courtney Thompson 23:27, Alicia Anlezark 24:18
Male – Peter Finlay 18:02 (2nd fastest course time) , Chris Clough 21:15, Henry Charge 21:19

7.2 km
Female – Neece Carrigan 39:58, Jessica Curran 43:19, Jane Fairgrieve 45:48
Male – Derek Thompson 31:48, Hugh Daintith 35:09, Daryl Roweth 35:58

9.6 km
Female – Elizabeth Simpson 49:14, Jannell Hooper 50:41, Juste Kucinskaite 52:15
Male – Jack Daintith 34:19 (NEW Course Record), Mitch Williamson 34:35 (2nd fastest course time), Nathan Sutherland 36:03 (3rd fastest course time)

Congratulation’s to Jack Daintith for another impressive course record The 9.6km distance was hotly contested with Mitch Williamson and Nathan Sutherland also breaking the previous course record.

For this week’s Wednesday run 34 members attended Elephant Park completing 1, 2 or 3 laps. The top three men were Danny Boulton 12:00, Billy Yeo 12:31 and Phillip Thomas 12:36. The top three women were Taryn Boulton 12:01, Rhianna Hume 12:46 and Neece Carrigan 14:51.

3km Personal Bests were achieved by Taryn Boulton 12:01 (4 minutes 18 seconds) and Billy Yeo 12:31 (1 minute 48 seconds). Achievement medals were awarded to Derek and Courtney Thompson with 25 runs each, Karren Skelton with 200 runs and an impressive 1300 runs for Life Member Jane Fairgrieve!

Tomorrow’s run is at Favell Road, a gravel surface which is quite hilly in places. Members can choose from 3km, 5.8km, 8.1km or 11.2km.
