EDITORIAL REPORT FOR CWD Saturday 1st October 2022

Chris Clough

Last Sunday 37 members attended our Sunday run at Bargwanna Road. Today’s run was made more interesting as it was ‘no watch day’, in other words all attending members guessed their finish time for their chosen distance and a winner was crowned at the end of the morning.

The fastest in each distance were:

3km

Female – Denise Quinlan 30:33
Male – Freddie Littlejohn 23:12, Michael Sharp 30:31, John Hannan 30:41

5km
Female – Kinisha Roweth 25:24, Claire Gates 27:08, Merissa Horne 31:34
Male – Peter Finlay 19:19, Mike Cooper 25:10, Eddie Feeney 26:12

8km
Female – Kim Roweth 45:28
Male – Brad Simmons 39:39, Russell Tym 48:01, Anthony Daintith 50:58

10km
Female – Lauren Reid 49:51, Kim Jarvis 1:01:02, Julia 1:02:38
Male – Maxwell Horne 45:49, Iain McLean 49:16, Daryl Roweth 49:41

For our Wednesday run at elephant park, unfortunately it was cancelled due to adverse wet weather and the conditions of the course. Members safety and that of everyone is the upmost of importance to the club and therefore it was cancelled.

Achievement Medals were awarded to James Littlejohn with 75 runs today.
A Reminder to all members that membership is due 1st October and for the general public the time is now to join the Orange Runners Club to get amongst the fun and come out and stretch those legs.

This Sunday’s run is Emu Swamp Road, a personal favourite of mine as the view are pretty dam good. Attending members have the choice of 3.2, 4.6, 7.5 or 10km for their Sunday run. A feature of this course is the daunting hill at the beginning of the course, we assure you it’s worth the pain once at the top and along the course.

Together we achieve individual goals.
