EDITORIAL REPORT FOR SATURDAY’s CWD November 20th, 2021

With a run location change due to the serious rainy weather we were given; last Sunday’s run was moved to Botanic Gardens. 50 members turned up to complete the 1.6km loop 1 to 6 times.

The leading club members in each distance were:

1.6km
Female – Rosemary Blair 21:47.
Male – Brian Penrose 45:00.

3.2km
Female – Leanne Corcoran 15:06, Courtney Hayes 15:33, Samantha Pluymers 19:02.
Male – Iain Mclean 12:55, Derek Thompson 13:14, Trevor Jones 27:59.

4.8km
Female – Kim Roweth 26:47, Claire Gates 30:09, Rosemary Elkington 31:42.
Male – Mike Cooper 23:55, Simon Lun 25:46, Russell Tym 28:05.

6.4km
Female – Lauren Reid 23:03, Sue Klose 38:18, Alison Spurway 41:19.
Male – Hugh Daintith 30:46, Duncan Blair 34:28, Basil Baldwin 49:13.

Female – Anna Daintith 1:03:11.

9.6km
Female – Nicola Blore 44:37, Juste Kucinskaite 53:59, Jane Fairgrieve 1:00:25.
Male – Jack Daintith 37:20, Luke Hockey 39:25, Daryl Roweth 44:24.

On Wednesday afternoon, 50 members took to the track at Elephant Park to complete 1, 2 or 3 laps. Top three males were Jack Daintith 9:53, Peter Finlay 10:03 and Luke Hockey 11:03. Completing the top three ladies were Nicola Blore 12:33, Alicia Ross 14:14 and Luisa Sims 14:16.

A personal best was recorded this week by Rhys Hill taking off 19 seconds, now running the 3 laps in 11:57.

Congratulations to our achievement medal receivers this week: Clive Blore 25 runs, Talitha Mudge 50 runs, Hugh Daintith 800 runs and a huge congratulations to Kim Jarvis reaching 1700 runs.

This Sunday’s run is location is Spring Creek Dam, with the start between 8:30am and 9am. The distances marked out will be 2.4km, 4.8km, 7.2km, 9.6km. This is a dirt/ gravel track alongside the dam with some gorgeous views along the way. Wednesday runs will commence at 4pm and you can run any time after that as long as you are finished by 5:30pm.

Two reminders for this week. Firstly, it isn’t long until our Christmas party/ presentation at Waratahs on the 4th of December at 6pm. Please remember to book your spot f you haven’t done so yet. Secondly, we are back to slightly normal runs, with rules though. You must show proof of being fully vaccinated before you can participate, and you must use the QR code to check in or write on the manual check in sheet.
