EDITORIAL REPORT FOR SATURDAY’s CWD November 13th, 2021

Last Sunday, 41 members were waiting anxiously for the storm to simmer down so that Runners club could go ahead. These determined members turned up to Shiralee to run through the puddles for a few kilometres.

The leading club members in each distance were:

2km
Female – Olivia Blore 28:19.
Male – Julian Hyde 13:52.

4km
Female – Courtney Hayes 19:16, Kinisha Roweth 19:16, Alison Spurway 22:09.
Male – Iain Mclean 16:29, Brad Simmons 18:19, Mike Cooper 20:10.

6km
Female – Rosemary Elkington 40:39.
Male – Clive Blore 31:30.

8km
Female – Lauren Reid 29:21, Nicola Blore 37:20, Luisa Sims 43:54.
Male – Peter Finlay 32:11, Luke Hockey 32:50, Mark Thomas 35:01.

12km
Male – Jack Daintith 48:47, Daryl Roweth 58:05.

On Wednesday afternoon, in the rain, jumping muddy, wet puddles 25 committed members took to the track at Elephant Park to complete 1, 2 or 3 laps. Top three males were Jack Daintith 9:59, Peter Finlay 10:16 and Derek Thompson 11:20. Completing the top three ladies were Leanne Corcoran 12:43, Courtney Hayes 13:49 and Samantha Pluymers 14:55.

Congratulations to our achievement medal receivers this week: Steve Wensley 1200 runs.

This Sunday’s run is located at Emu Swamp in Lucknow, with the start between 8:30am and 9am. The distances available will include 3.2km, 4.6km, 7.8km and 9.2km. This course will make you tough some come prepared to sweat it out. Wednesday runs will commence at 4pm and you can run any time after that as long as you are finished by 5:30pm.

Reminders for this week:

  • Christmas party/ presentation dinner at Waratahs on the 4th of December at 6pm. Please remember to book your spot for a great night.
  • We are back to slightly normal runs, with rules though. You must show proof of being fully vaccinated before you can participate, and you must use the QR code to check in or write on the manual check in sheet.
