Last Sunday, Orange Runners Club had its weekend run at Elephant Park. After a Mother’s Day raffle, 69 members in attendance had a choice of 1 to 5 laps of a flat yet picturesque 1.6km course. The first three finishers for each distance are as follows:

1 lap –  Michael Sharp (8:46), Alicia Ross (8:56), and Mchelle Whiteley (9:41). 2 laps – Adam Reeves (13:50), Hugh Daintith (14:20), and Lily Craig (14:50). 3 laps – Stephen Martin (21:38), Gareth Thomas (22:38), and David Ross (23:06). 4 laps – Steven Wensley (37:25), Anthony Daintith (43:29), and Sue Betts (48:34). Finally, 5 laps – Meg Reeves (32:17), Brad Simmons (34:52), and Felix Koeppen 35:51). Meg Reeves clocked the fastest lap of the morning, registering a 6:09 on her final lap. Congratulations to all who participated, Fiona Littlejohn was declared the winner.

The Wednesday afternoon Elephant Park 2.9k handicap event saw 68 competitors take part in very overcast conditions. The fastest men were Rikky Bangert (10:30), Brad Simmons (11:02), and Mitch Essex (11:03). The fastest ladies were Ella Lamrock (11:54), Ursula Wilson (12:07) and Amelia Hogben (12:51). Fastest lap of the 958m circuit was clocked by Rikky Bangert at 3:19. Many members recorded PBs: Amelia Hogben (13s), Jamie Corcoran (27s), Hugh Corcoran (22s), Rikky Bangert (12s), Elliot Bangert (18s), Ella Lamrock (9s), Noel Annett (10s), Edward MacLean 00:14:06 00:14:57 (51s), Willow Molloy (41s), Steve Pearson (50s), Lyndal Molloy (43s), and Emily Pearson 1:18)17/05/2017. Bec Davis was declared the overall winner. Well done to all who took part.

This Sunday sees the club at The Orange Botanic Gardens, where members will have a choice of 1-5 laps of the 1.6km gravelly, undulating course through the gardens. This event will commence at 9am. After the run, there will be an extraordinary AGM as per previous correspondence.
