Last Sunday, Orange Runners Club had its regular weekend run at Elephant Park, where 54 runners had the choice of 1-6 laps of the traditional 1.6km course. The first 3 finishers by gender for each distance are as follows:
1 Lap – Female: Kerrie Lindsay (8:31), Rosie Corcoran (12:40) and Abigail McLean (12:40). Male: Oliver Chandler-Sullivan (8:01), Cameron McLean (10:48) and Oliver McLean (12:43).
2 Laps – Female: Tanya Connolly (17:13), Belinda MacCauley (19:22) and Christie McGreal (22:54). Male: John Connolly (15:20), Craig Penrose (15:56) and Michael Sharp (16:55).
3 Laps – Female: Amber Rich (22:16), Lily Craig (22:46) and Jessica McGreal (22:55). Male: Paul Stam (27:42) and Daryl Roweth (45:29).
4 Laps – Mixed: Alex Irwin (32:28), Bill Fairgrieve (36:24) and Ursula Wilson 54:57.
5 Laps – Female: Leanne Billington (49:06), Sally Manning (53:27) and Clarissa Lark (65:20)
6 Laps – Female: Leanne Corcoran (42:21), Jane Fairgrieve and Karen Neal (55:11). Male: Brad Simmons (42:06), Joel Kitto (45:10) and Matt Paton (45:47)
A big thumbs up to all who participated, Abigail McLean was declared the winner. Brad Simmons clocked the fastest lap of the day, circulating the 1.6km course in 6:45 on his 5th lap.
Externally, Adam Reeves took on the 30km run at Stromlo Running Festival, completing the event in 3:06, which is a fantastic effort. More locally, dozens of club members took on the Panorama Punish, a 6.2km run around the Mt Panorama Circuit. This Wednesday just passed saw the final leg of the Spring junior racing carnival. Winners by gender and age category are as follows:
Age 1-3: Male – Cooper Williamson, Female – Harriet Gibson
Age 4-6: Male – Thomas Gibson, Female – Jessica McGreal
Age 7-9: Male – Blake Gleeson, Female: Hannah Gross
Age 10-12: Male – Elliot Bangert, Female: Lily Bangert
Age 13-15: Male – Rikky Bangert, Female: Lily Craig
Age 16-18: Male – Noah Lamrock
After this, 50 competitors took part in the regular 3 lap handicap event, under overcast and sultry conditions. The fastest ladies were Penny Chandler (13:56), Kelly Gleeson (14:03) and Kim Jarvis (15:22). The fastest men were Tim Murphy (10:47), Dave Ross (12:02) and Adam Reeves (12:02). Fastest lap of the Elephant Park circuit was clocked by Tim Murphy at 3:32 for his final lap. PBs were achieved by Lily Craig, Tim Murphy, Elliot and Rikky Bangert (1s), Siri Flemming (13s), Kelly Jurd (29s) and Jack Flemming (15s). Well done to all who took part, Kelly Jurd was declared the winner.
This Sunday sees the club back at Elephant Park, where here will be a 1.6km sprint event at Elephant Park. Later in the day there is the annual Christmas Party for those who have registered. This coming Wednesday sees the regular 3-lap handicap event at 5pm.
