EDITORIAL REPORT FOR SATURDAY’s CWD July 31st, 2021
By Kinisha Roweth

The best news we have heard all week! We are out of lockdown and can hold our runs again. Although there are still a number of COVID restrictions in place.

We returned from lockdown with our modified 5 lap Wednesday run at Elephant Park, we had 18 members come out and run or walk around the track and through the puddles in the rain. Special mention goes to Mike Cooper who ran his 5 laps in gum boots. It sure did bring a smile and even a laugh to the faces of others.

Top three males were Jack Daintith 11:05, Peter Finlay 11:45 and Luke Hockey 12:36.
Completing the top three ladies were Kim Jarvis 17:32, Samantha Pluymers 18:00 and Karen Mudge 18:29.

There were no personal bests this week as it wasn’t the usual course, once again.

For tomorrow’s run we are heading out to Favell Road (starting near Byng Church). The distances that will be marked out will be 3km, 5.5km, 8.5km and 11.3km. If you are heading out along the highway past Lucknow, be wary of the creek crossing 300m after turning on to Favell Road, perhaps head out Icely Road way given the recent rain.

On Wednesday’s, timing begins at 4pm and will cease at 5:15pm. On Sunday’s, you must start between 8.30am and 9am. On both days still encouraging members to arrive, run and depart.

Upcoming Sunday club runs:
August 8th – Shiralee

The safety guideline for this week is to continue to wear a mask to the run location, keeping it on before and after you complete your run/walk.
