EDITORIAL REPORT FOR CWD Saturday 13th May 2023

Last Sunday’s run was scheduled for Four Mile Creek but due to the weather conditions and un-safe course the location of last week’s run was moved to lake Canobolas. This was a lap course where members could choose from 1-4 laps of the 2.5km course around the lake. 65 members attended last Sundays run around the lake.

 

The fastest in each distance were:

 

2.5km

Female – Clara Hooper 18:35, Sharyn Mitselburg 18:47, Lacey Hooper 18:49

Male – Nick Irwin 10:46, Mike Cooper 13:55, Craig Penrose 18:02

 

5km
Female – Isobel Curran 25:03, Kinisha Roweth 25:52, Juste Kucinskaite 25:54

Male – Luke Hockey 21:47, Hugh Daintith 24:52, Baden Curran 26:51

 

7.5km
Female – Kate Harris 44:08, Kate Hook 44:47, Karren Skelton 54:28

Male – Peter Finlay 30:01, Warrick Blackwell 35:58, Matthew Wilkens 39:00

 

10km
Female – Jannell Hooper 52:50, Sue Klose 1:04:19, Kim Jarvis 1:04:22

Male – Mark Thomas 44:05, Ben Sullivan 49:30, Eddie Feeney 49:51

 

Another course record was achieved on Sunday, with Peter Finlay beating his own previous record for the 7.5km distance. He improved his own record by 18 seconds. Peter now holds the top 3 times for this distance at Lake Canobolas.

 

For our usual Wednesday run 75 members attended Elephant Park. Members completed 1, 2 or 3 laps. Top three men were Peter Finlay 10:17, Jack Daintith 10:31 and Ben Sullivan 12:01. The top three women were Rhianna Hume 12:42, Jannell Hooper 14:01 and Lizzie Del Gigante 14:28.

Personnel Bests were achieved by Catherine Gleeson by 45 seconds, Jannell Hooper by 28 seconds, Michael Holmes by 10 seconds and Ben Sullivan by 8 seconds.

A reminder that the Orange Runners Club annual AGM is coming up on May 18th at 7pm, we encourage all club members to attend and have their say and get involved in the clubs many roles available. This will be held at Hotel Canobolas at 7pm, there will be pizza’s for everyone post the AGM.

This Sunday run is at Ploughmans Wetlands. Members have the choice of 1.6km, 3.2km, 4.8km, 6.4km, 8km and 9.6km. This course is mostly flat along the walking track so enjoy the sights and sounds as you make your way through the track and please be mindful of public traffic along the course as well.
