Today and tomorrow is the Orange Running Festival. Good luck to all those who are participating over the weekend. I am looking forward to seeing everyone being in an event and seeing how everyone goes.
On the Sunday, long-time senior members of ORC will be doing their red-hot best to complete the marathon event. The primary goal is to support John Moss in his fundraising effort in supporting the amazing work the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia through the Dick Potts Memorial Marathon. John will about the full marathon while (L to R in the photo), Bill Fairgrieve, Basil Baldwin, (John Moss), Brian Rix, Brian Sharp and Russell Tym will be making their way along the marathon course as a relay team. Last Sunday, 63 members climbed up Stagecoach Road on a warm morning to undertake their run through a few different distances.

Male – Gareth Thomas 9:44, Ricard Meiring 14:33, Gary Taylor 18:37.

Female – Charlotte Meiring 15:05, Kim Roweth 18:27.
Male – John Moss 31:04, John Hannan 34:32.
5km
Female – Milla Jurd 23:54, Kinisha Roweth 26:07, Kelly Jurd 29:49.
Male – Mike Cooper 27:33, Peter Hyde 28:41, Hayden Hyde 28:42.
8km
Female – Danielle Klingberg 46:16, Kim Jarvis 52:26, Sue Klose 55:23.
Male – Peter Finlay 33:04, Luke Hockey 39:51, Maxwell Horne 40:21
12km
Female – Luisa Sims 1:11:00, Juste Kucinskaite 1:12:02.
Male – Jack Daintith 54:31, Mark Thomas 57:07, Ian Spurway 1:00:35.
Luckily before the run came to town, under the dark gloomy clouds, 45 members ran around Wednesday’s Elephant Park track completing 1, 2 or 3 laps. Top three males were Peter Finlay 10:54, Luke Hockey 11:05 and Mark Thomas 11:41. Completing the top three ladies were Leanne Corcoran 12:53, Yonneka Hill 14:40 and Kinisha Roweth 15:07.
Personal bests were recorded this week by Merissa Horne 37 secs and Melissa Harding 3 secs.
Congratulations to our achievement medal receivers this week: Kinisha Roweth 500 club runs, Karren Skelton 100 club runs and Charlotte Meiring 50 club runs.
Wednesday runs will commence at 4pm and you can run any time after that as long as you are finished by 5:30pm.
