Paralympian’s Cleaver and Colley to compete at NSW All Schools

The 2XU NSW All Schools will see the first appearance since Rio of NSW’s two teenage Paralympian’s, Tasmin Colley and Erin Cleaver.

Aged just 16 years, Erin Cleaver (MQH) became one of our youngest ever medallists in history when she claimed bronze as a member of the T35-38 4x100m relay. In her individual event, the T38 long jump, she placed fifth with a leap of 4.51m. Read more here.

Congratulations to Ella Nelson
Athletics NSW would like to send a massive Congratulations to Ella Nelson as she received the ‘One to Watch’ award at the ‘2016 Australian Women’s Health; I Support Women in Sport’ Awards Evening. Treloar Shield Kicked Off in Campbelltown

Campbelltown hosted the first Treloar Shield competition of the season, held in windy and warm competition on Saturday afternoon. Many teenagers took the opportunity of competing as they continue their build up to the 2XU NSW All Schools Athletics Championships next week.

The women’s 100m was a tremendous preview of the 17 years 100m next week, when Kristie Edwards (UTN) and Maisie Stevens (AEA) raced off. Battling a 2.7m/s headwind, Edwards took a psychological advantage into next week, by winning 12.49 to 12.53. Another who will be in the mix next week was Sara Dougan (AEA) who ran 12.76.

NSW Schools Profile: Ethan Bateman

When Trinity’s Ethan Bateman arrives to compete at the 2XU NSW all Schools next weekend, he can reflect on an already successful and busy school season.

Bateman launched his year at the Combined Associated Schools championships in September, where in front of a vocal crowd of about 7,000 students, he won the 14 years high jump and 100m hurdles and claimed a further four podium finishes. He tallied valuable points for his Trinity Athletics team, which won their first title in five years.

Pinkletics
Pinkletics is a unique track and field competition where participants are asked to wear pink to support the Jane McGraph Foundation. Hosted by the Nepean Districts Athletics Club, the meet is to be held from 6.30pm to Wednesday 19th October at Blair Oval. Click here for more information.

Treloar Shield Points Update

Round 1 of the Treloar Shield was held at Campbelltown on Saturday. The results have been coordinated in to age categories and the points for the round calculated. All-comers @ Hensley

After a long absence from the Hensley Athletics Field, South Sydney Athletics and Athletics NSW have combined to hold an All-comers meet on Friday 21st October. First event is from 6.45pm. the meet also includes the discus throw which is a Treloar Shield point scoring event. Online entry closes midnight Wednesday 19th October. Treloar Shield #2 – SOPAC

The 2nd full round of the Treloar Shield will be hosted by Asics Wests and held on Saturday October 22nd at Sydney Olympic Park. Online entry is now open and closes midnight Thursday 20th October.
