Orange runners to the four in Forbes

Some great results were achieved by the group of Orange runners in Forbes last weekend. The girls had a great weekend with Orange runners filling the first 4 places in the 5k. Nicole Williamson was first lady home ahead of Amber Rich, Carrie Williamson and young gun Charlotte Simmons who was fourth overall and won her age category. Laura Auberson was first female home and 3rd overall in the 10k while Leanne Corcoran was second continuing her strong performances. Another of the outstanding young runners Ella Lamrock finished 7th female overall and first in her age group.  Of the men Joel Kitto was the best performer finishing 4th male home in the 10k. Around 60 runners battled a strong headwind on Sunday morning at Jack Brabham which had competitors really struggling for half of the run. Jacquelene Harris ran 22:58 in the 3.5k to secure the overall (handicap) winner on the day.

Almost 100 runners ran and walked at EP on Wednesday afternoon with Flo Conway who did 14:17 for the 3 laps, while Jack Daintith and Joel Kitto led a very competitive group home where the next 6 fastest runners finished within 13 seconds of each other.

Congratulations to John West who competed in the Australian Masters Games in Geelong in Athletics and Cycling. John won the 60 – 64y 1500m walk (11:12), 3k walk (21:41) and 5k walk (36:38). He finished second in the throws pentathlon, including 3rd in Shot Put, Hammer Throw and Weight Throw. In the cycling John competed in the 18k time trial and the 64k road race finishing 13th and 16th respectively with solid performances.

This weeks run is at Bargwanna Road starting at 9am.
