Successful Information Night

 In CWD Articles

Last Saturday evening members and friends were treated to three enthusiastic, knowledgeable speakers upstairs at the Hotel Canobolas. First up was Paul Davidson from Fitness Perfection speaking about fitness, exercise and core strength. Second, Dr Gareth Thomas from Western Plains Medical Centre who outlined many sporting injuries and how to avoid, manage and treat them; and thirdly Jacqueline Jasprizza, Nutritionist, who delivered an informative talk about planning your training around specific types of meals and advice on various food groups, nutrition supplements and sports drinks.

A big thank you to Jane Fairgrieve for her work in organising the night and to the Orange Runners Club Committee for making the night available to all.

A keen eye will show that podium placing’s in all three events were represented by members of the Ward family. Not to leave anyone out, every member of the family gained a place. Here is another example of how the Club has a strong family base, well done.

After quite a few days of Spring weather last Wednesday turned chilly again, but that didn’t deter 91 members at Elephant Park mid-week run. PB times reported were

Frehiwot Ward 5sec, Kim Roweth 11sec, Richard Eggleston 12sec, Abby Dean 15sec, Mitchell Essex 25sec and Susan Henderson a massive 45sec.

Tomorrow is the 36th Annual Edgell Bathurst Jog. This year is an amended 7.5km distance as requested by Bathurst Police in the interest of competitor safety, still included is Esrom Street hill. Start time is 10:30am in front of the Courthouse. Entry can still be made on the day from 8am. A large contingent of Orange Runners Club members are travelling to participate in this run, but for those not going there will still be a sanctioned run at Elephant Park at 10am.

The ladies trip away is the following weekend for Blackmore’s Bridge Run. A reminder to all ladies going to check your emails for last minute details,

print your E-ticket and have a great weekend away.
