EDITORIAL REPORT FOR CWD Saturday 10th September 2022

Last Sunday 43 members attended Shiralee road for the clubs Sunday run. It was a great morning to be out and about, a few wet patches along the course amongst the gravel and dirt and a few bridges to cross. The course was a ‘out and back course’ where members had the choice of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12km.

The fastest in each distance were:

For our usual Wednesday run 47 members attended Elephant Park completing 1, 2 or 3 laps. Top three men were Jack Daintith 9:51, Peter Finlay 10:58 and Adam Thomas 10:58. The top three women were Milla Jurd 12:18, Isobel Curran 13:04 and Jessica Curran 13:31.

Personal bests were recorded by Angus Finlay by 52 seconds, James Littlejohn by 32 seconds, Jessica Curran by 13 seconds and Adam Thomas by 11 seconds.

Achievement Medals were awarded to Paul Anderson with 75 runs, Merissa Horne with 75 runs, Peter Regan with 100 runs.

A congratulations to one of our upcoming champion runners Maxwell Horne for been selected to compete in Sydney next Tuesday at the ISA Athletics in the 3000m event. We wish Maxwell all the best of luck and he will have all the support from back home.

A reminder to all members, friends and family and the broader community the 2023 Orange Running Festival registrations are now open. Register yourself, family and friends and choose your challenge or training event for the upcoming year.

This Sunday’s run is at Lake Canobolas which is a lap course of 2.5km, members have the choice of 1-4 laps of the course. This is a very enjoyable run for all, and the café is a great spot for a post run pick-me-up. We look forward to seeing you all there.
