On a beautiful January Sunday morning 77 Runners Club members ventured to the Botanic Gardens to tackle one of the five distance options. Sophie Gordon was one of the standouts as she completed the 4.8km / 3 lap distance to be the fastest female and overall handicap winner.

The placings across each distance and their times were:

Female

1.6km – Georgie Halls 17:18 Katrina Holway 20:45, Emma Holway 20:47 and Grace Holway 20:48.

3.2km – Amber Rich 14:02, Ella Lamrock 15:17, Molly and Jessie Dean 17:24.

4.8km – Sophie Gordan 26:56, Jane Fairgrieve 31:10 and Sharon Fahy 33:25.

6.4km – Pam Fullgrabe 41:55.

8km – Estelle Dean 39:11, Danielle Klingberg  46:38 and Yolanda Zhao 50:00.

 

Male

1.6km – Lachlan Ross 6:29 and Michael Halls 17:19.

3.2km – Noah Lamrock 13:27, Hugh Daintith 15:02 and John Connolly 16:34.

4.8km – Anthony Wilson 23:04, Jack Daintith 25:41 and Alistair Merrifield 25:41.

6.4km – Ian Fischer 33:02, Richard Eggleston 36:36 and Anthony Daintith 49:42.

8km – Jared Sullivan 33:33 Mitchell Essex 34:43 and Daryl Roweth 37:22.

 

A very hot Wednesday night at Elephant Park a small group of 43 starters battled the conditions, with Adam Reeves outstanding as he set the fastest time of 11:26. Ella Lamrock was the fastest female as she stopped the clock at 14:56. Julie Chapman was the overall winner as she finished her 3 laps in a time of 17:04.

 

Runners need to get their entries in for this years’ Running Festival, which is on February 25/26. Early bird entries close January 26. There is an event for everyone from the Kids Pete’s Car Wash 2km, Hotel Canobolas 5km walk/run, Westfund 10km run/walk, Athletes Foot Half Marathon and JP Hotel Brokers Marathon.

 

If you don’t want to compete you can always volunteer some time to helping Stewart Vidler and his team organising and or running the event. There is a volunteers book at every club run, so get your name down and help out where you can.

 

This Sunday Jan 22, the Club Run is at Clergate, starting at the regular time of 9am.
