Deck the Halls at Botanic Gardens

cccourse in the handy time of 11m10s. Not to be outdone though, Logan Whiteley again powered away to a win in the 1 lap race, in a quick 7:08. Liam Sharp and Lachlan Ross filled the minor placings and were only seconds behind Logan with solid runs. Joanne Locke (8:35) secured the ladies win in front of Rebecca Halls and Joy Harvey. In the 3.2km race Tony Fitzpatrick (15:03) was a clear winner from Glenn Prestwidge and Bailey Harvey in the mens event, while Kate Thornton (17:10) was too quick for Tanya and Monique Connolly.
In the very popular 3 lap (4.8km) run Amber Rich was the fastest of them all with a speedy 21:11 to finish with a 3 second quicker time than the male winner Jackson Boucher. Both were well clear of the field with Jim Rich and John Connolly the next best of the men and Alicia Ross, Josephine Kitto and Lily Craig leading home the large field of women behind Amber.
Wayne Stewart (33:03) led the field home in the 6.4km race, with Steven Wensley second and Brian Rix third in a tight tussle. Amanda Gregor (41:16) was in a league of her own as no one was game to challenge her over this distance. Brad Simmons (33:38) was too strong in the 8km run, finishing well clear of Peter Mueller and Stephen Blackwood. The ladies saw Ursula Wilson (40:35) complete a steady run and finish ahead of Jessica Richards.
On Wednesday night at Elephant Park a solid turnout of members saw Brad Simmons again power through a super consistent 10:54 to be the fastest runner on the night, while Meghann Coffey 12:05 was the fastest female. Overall winner was Jenni Owens who ran a 12 second Personal Best (PB) in doing 13:37 for the 3 laps. Also busting out PB’s were Tanya Connolly 10s, Norma Bradley 2s, Gabe Colla 23s and Nick Lendi 33s.
This year the Christmas Party and Awards night is on the 29th of November at Nashdale Hall. Cost is $10 for a family and $5 for individuals. Please get your money and names to the executive ASAP. Also the 2015 Running Festival Committee are looking for people to assist with some of the minor roles. This weekend will see the Carcoar Cup taking place with distances from and Ultra Marathon to a Short Dash with many members expecting to attend. The Sunday club run will be at Bargwanna Road starting at 9am with the normal range of distances available (3km, 5km and 10km).
